Flower Power!🌷

Hey guys! Sorry I haven’t been posting anything recently. I have been SUPER busy at school! This year, I have been chosen as a Digital Leader, I am still teaching in Handwriting Club for three times a week, I am also a Junior Journalist for the school newspaper and God knows what else! 😀 So Mr Dad and Mrs Mom said that I should take a break from some activities outside of school. However, I have still been writing offline and I will be releasing the pieces that I have written on my blog. But don’t worry! I’m back now!

flower5.jpg

Yesterday, me, Little Miss Diva and Ali Bubba (Baby A wanted to change his name because he doesn’t like being called ‘Baby’ any more, even though he is only 19 months old!) decided to create our own pieces of art – Cupcake Case Flowers! To make them, we used cupcake cases, buttons, paper and some ribbons. Little Miss Diva and Ali Bubba really enjoyed making the flowers; they grinned all the way through!

If you would like to try this with your kids, follow the simple steps below ⬇️ :

  1. Firstly, choose three large cupcake cases and gently flatten them, making sure that they aren’t bent.
  2. Next, apply glue to the back of the cases and paste them onto a piece of paper.
  3. After that, take three smaller cupcake cases that can fit into the middle of the bigger ones, flatten them and stick them in the centre of the big cases.
  4. Once you have done that, choose some buttons to glue onto your flowers (different colours and sizes will make it look more attractive!)
  5. Afterwards, cut three pieces of green ribbon and stick them under your flowers. This will be the stem!
  6. Finally, flatten a small green cupcake case (one for each flower), cut it in half and stick each half on either side of the ribbon to make your leaves. Now your flower is complete!

This is a great activity for children because it can unleash their creativity, it’s fun and it’s easy! I would highly recommend this for people who have little ones at home!

Well, that’s all for today, but be sure to look out for the next post! Bye!

This book features a number of animal sounds that are fun and easy to imitate. The pictures are also very bright and your kids will enjoy investigating them. Baby A had fun repeating the animal sounds after me and loved looking at all of the illustrations. That’s why he wants to give it…5 stars!!! Baby A admired this PAWSOME book and your child sure will too! If you would like to get this book, then just simply ask at your local library today!

Pawsome Book Club: Spot Loves His Grandpa by Eric Hill

Hola pawsome amigos!

Welcome back to another book review from my Pawsome Book Club! This review is also going to be for a children’s book as Little Miss Diva and Baby A LOVE to read books! If you are the parent of a bookworm then this post might help you! The book that I have chosen for this review is called…Spot Loves His Grandpa by Eric Hill!

IMG_2073.JPG

The front cover of this book is very eye-catching and bright. That is what every book should have!

The main character in this book is called Spot and he looks up to his grandpa a lot. This book tells the story of the adventures he has with him. It takes you on a journey through Spot’s and Grandpa’s life together.

Baby A loves to read this book with me. He likes to copy what I read from the book. If you have a child from 0-1 years and they love to read, they will definitely enjoy reading this book!

Finally, rating! The number of stars that I am giving this book is…5!!! 👏 This is a book your 1 year old bookworm will surely enjoy reading. Pawsome Book Club: Max at Night by Ed Vere

Namaste pawsome peeps! Everything ship-shape?

Once again, I am writing a book review for one of the books from The BFR! Since I have an ADORABLE baby brother and sister, I have decided to review a children’s book this time. I thought that it might be useful for parents that have lil’ bookworms with them! This post is featuring the one and only Little Miss Diva, my 2-year-old baby sister! So, let’s get to it! The book that I have chosen for today is called…Max at Night by Ed Vere!

IMG_2072.JPG

One of the best things about this book is the front cover. A picture of a cute, tiny cat is all it needs to persuade a toddler to read it!

The main character in this book is called Max and it’s way past his bedtime. He is very sleepy! He is ready for bed and he needs to say goodnight to everyone. When it’s Moon’s turn, Max can’t find him! So he goes on a journey to find Moon but he can’t see him anywhere! Does brave little Max give up? NO!!! He keeps on trying until he reaches the top of the highest of high hills where suddenly, Moon coms into sight! XD Now Max can finally go to bed!

Max at Night is a book that Little Miss Diva and I enjoyed reading. She actually picked this book herself! If your child loves books and they’re getting sleepy, this is the book to take out! Little Miss Diva always likes to read this book when it’s her bedtime, and I’m sure your child will too!

Next, I need to rate this book! If I was to give this book 1 to 5 stars, it would definitely be a…5 star book! YAY!!! The amount of joy that this book brought Little Miss Diva really makes it 5 stars! The words in this book are short and easy to understand and the illustrations really explain the situation. Your toddler will fall in love with this book! If you would like to read this book with your child, visit your local library today and ask about it there!

Parting is such sweet sorrow! 😂 Oh well, that’s the end of this post-for now! Remember to keep on the lookout for more book reviews from my Pawsome Book Club!

A Sad Adios…😭

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye…

As most of you know, the school year is coming to end and the summer holidays are slowly approaching. Everyone’s waving goodbye to their teachers and classes and are anxiously waiting to meet their new class teachers when the three weeks of ‘transition’ come. Transition is a period of time when children can get to know their new teachers and classes.

It’s time to bid farewell to Hazel and greet my new Year 5 class which is Oak! My new teacher will be Miss Parker and the LSP (teaching assistant) is Mr Johnson. Miss Parker will be our teacher for the three weeks of transition only as a new teacher will be appointed in September. I can’t wait to meet her/him! Hopefully they’re just like Miss Javed!

Wednesday was Parent’s Day at SHP, the day everyone received their yearly reports. As usual, everyone was nervous about the grades that they would get-especially me! There was a tense atmosphere when my family and I entered the classroom. We were all waiting for the moment when Miss Javed handed over my report for the year…

Then, the results were revealed! My report was…OUTSTANDING!!!! WAHEY!! My grades in Literacy, Maths, Science, R.E (Religious Education), Learning Together and P.E were superlative! I really need to thank God that everything in my report was great! This achievement is not mine to claim! It belongs to everyone, my family, friends, teachers and all you PAWSOME peeps because everyone has been supporting me all along and helped me to gain this achievement!

IMG_1688.JPG

Of course, my report wouldn’t have been outstanding without the hard work of all the PAWSOME people in my life! I would like to thank each and every one of them!

  1. Thank you God for making this possible!
  2. Thank you Mrs Mom and Mr Dad for supporting me throughout my journey from Moseley (old school) to SHP!
  3. Thank you Little Miss Diva and Baby A for being the cutest brother and sister in the whole wide world!
  4. Thank you Dr Auntie for motivating me to do my best!
  5. Thank you Mr OCD Uncle for being such an inspirational uncle to me!
  6. Thank you Dadajee and Khun Yai Thi Rak Khong Phom for always building up my ideas!
  7. Thank you Miss Javed and Miss Hussain for being the greatest teachers I have ever met!
  8. Thank you Hazel class for always standing by my side!
  9. Thank you SHP for building me up from who I was in Moseley to who I am today!
  10. Last but not least, I would like to thank all of my family and friends, my blog readers, all of my supporters on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for always supporting and encouraging me!

I am not sharing my results so I can brag about it or anything like that, I am sharing them because I am hoping that I can inspire more people and show them that hard work really does pay off and if we work as one, TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD! And don’t just do it for yourself:

  • Do it for God, who gave you a life, because He wants you to make a good use out of this precious dowry.
  • Do it for your mother, who carried you in her womb for nine months and brought you into this world, so you can make her proud.
  • Do it for your father, who works hard every day to ensure that you live a good life, so you can return the favour.
  • Do it for your teachers, who get through the headaches to make sure you have a high-level education, so you can thank them sincerely.
  • Do it for your brothers and sisters, who look up to you all the time, so you can become a perfect role model.
  • Do it for your friends, who stick with you in times of sorrow, so you can all succeed together.
  • Do it for the unfortunate people in this world, who manage to live in hunger and pain, so they can have a brighter future.
  • Do it for everyone, so TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!

To end this emotional (😪) post, I would like to write a goodbye poem dedicated to Miss Javed and Miss Hussain!

A Sad Adios…

By The Pawsome Lion

You guided us through right from the start,

You loved us all with all your heart

You told us not to work for naught,

You taught us things that meant a lot

You never left us all alone

You made sure we didn’t break our bones

And though we’ve had our smiles and frowns,

We’ve turned the frowns upside down

That’s why I’m saying a sad adios

To two of my favourite amigos!

p/s: Adios Miss Javed and Miss Hussain! I wish you all the best for next year!

Hey all you pawsome peeps! It’s me! The Pawsome Lion is back! Where have all of you guys been? Hopefully you’ve all been doing OK! I’m sorry to keep you waiting for a VERY long time. I have been extremely busy at school with a lot of things. But, I’ve come back and I’ve come back for good now!

heart_sacrifice_by_nikki_66-d4w5k3d

Since the start of 2016, Mr Dad has been busy doing a ton of work. Mrs Mom hasn’t been feeling well lately and I myself has been busy with Keyboard Club, the new Handwriting Club that I teach with Nimah and with the new Drama Club that I recently joined! Because Mr Dad has a tight schedule and Mrs Mom hasn’t been feeling well, I have been helping them around the house and to babysit Little Miss Diva and Baby A. But, I have finally found some spare time to write a quick update on my blog to tell you guys how I’m getting on! Mrs Mom and I have also been working on a time schedule so I have enough time to post something on my blog. Also, today is the first day of Spring! Yay!!! 😀 It’s all sunny days and happiness, until Winter comes again!

Oh well, that’s all for today’s post! I hope you all have a superb week! Till we meet again, adios amigos!

🌟🌟A Wonderful Week!🌟🌟

wonderfulweek.gif

Howdy pawsome peeps! Today, I’ll tell you about this week and how it has been. I hope you will enjoy it. So, without further ado, let’s get recounting!

under the weather

At the start of this week, I was feeling under the weather. In that case, I couldn’t go to school for TWO WHOLE DAYS!!! And we all know that if I miss school, it will be like the end of the world, especially missing two days of school! I was even crying on the second day! But, the upside of staying at home was that I got to spend time with Little Miss Diva and Baby A. XD

Then, on Wednesday, I finally went to school! I had been waiting for the day I could go back to school and meet all of my friends. On that day, it was our FLIP Workshop. A FLIP Workshop is when parents come to their child’s/children’s school, ascertain what they are learning and find out mental and written methods in Maths, Literacy or any other subject.

In this particular FLIP Workshop, we were learning a new mental strategy for adding and subtracting. If you want to add, you would have to first partition both numbers (the number you’re going to be adding to and the number you will be adding). After that, you add the hundreds together (depending on what number you have), the tens together and the units together. Once you have done that, you need to recombine all of your answers together. If you are subtracting, it’s pretty much the same as adding. But, this time, you only partition one number, which is the number you are going to subtract from.

When we were finished with the FLIP Workshop, we started our Literacy lesson. In Literacy, we were going to look at non-chronological reports. A non-chronological report is a report that does not have to be in time order. If it is a chronological report, it is just the opposite. Since we were learning about Madagascar in Literacy, we were looking at non-chronological reports about Madagascan animals. There was a hippo, a lion, a zebra, a giraffe, a lemur and many more. After that, we carried on with the school day.

snowing

The next day, I woke up with the most wonderful surprise. It was 2016’s first snowfall! ❄️ I looked at it in awe for a while. Then, I quickly got ready for school and jumped inside Mr  Dad’s car. It was SOOO cold, even inside the car! When I arrived at school, there was snow everywhere! Unfortunately, the snow melted completely when all of us went outside. 😦 But, we still enjoyed it while it lasted!

lion sketched.jpg

We also did Literacy and Maths too. Then, two things that were really exciting happened in the afternoon! First, we did some sketching! We sketched a PAWSOME lion with the whole class. Miss Javed sketched one too and it looked beautiful! If you want to do some sketching, here’s the website where you can get step-by-step instructions:

http://www.howtodrawanimals.net

the animal man-178x174

Finally, the highlight of the afternoon came. We went to see…an animal man!!!!! Because we are learning about the Amazon Rainforest and Madagascar, the animal man brought a large range of interesting animals for us to look at and touch.

cockroach

When we all finished our sketching, we quickly lined up and went down to the media suite where we would find the animal man. Inside the media suite, we found him sitting on a chair surrounded with lots of animals. He then introduced himself and brought out the first animal! It was (drum roll please!)…Madagascan hissing cockroaches!!! I was shaking and trembling when the animal man took the cockroaches out. Then, with no warning whatsoever, he threw a cockroach into someone’s lap and we were all screaming and shouting! 😲 Finally, the torture was over after he put the cockroaches back in their box.

bearded dragon and gecko

After the cockroaches, the man brought out a bearded dragon and a cute lil’ gecko! We weren’t allowed to touch the gecko but we could all touch the fierce looking bearded dragon. Both of the animals stared at us as we touched them and looked at them. I guess they were really interested in us! 😛

albino-african-pygmy-hedge

The next animal to come out was the one and only Ella, the Albino pygmy hedgehog! The animal man told us Ella was blind and she could only rely on her sense of smell and hearing. So, it was very important that we didn’t scare her. He then brought Ella around so we could pet her. When it was my go, I saw that Ella had big, shiny, red eyes that stood out from her face.

albino skunk

Then, the man brought out the stinkiest animal of them all. Can you guess? Yes, that’s right! It was a stinky, smelly,  silly old Albino skunk! We found out that the skunk had been rolling around in urine and he made himself turn yellow because of that! This time, we all nervously touched the skunk, thinking that he might spray on us any moment. The animal man told us not to worry and to buy tomato juice to get rid of the smell!

Barn_owl

Next came the elegant barn owl, which has 14 neck bones! A barn owl has a great sense of hearing. It’s better than a human’s sense of hearing! Once again, the animal man took the barn owl and brought it around so we could stroke it. It definitely wanted to get off the man’s hand now and explore. And so, the animal man let him fly freely. But, he decided to sit on the interactive whiteboard and watch TV! XD

ball python

Last but not least, the animal man brought out the greatest animal of all, the fantastic Ball Python! The Ball Python felt scaly, cold and was deadly. Miss Javed actually put the python around her neck and took a selfie with it! What a great idea! The python was also attracted to the iPad and it didn’t move. When we were lining up, we got the chance to feel the python as we went out. Phew! That was over now!

Finally, we move on to Friday! Friday was a normal school day. The only thing that brightened up the day (or made the day colder) was more snow! We did Literacy, Maths and whatnot. Then, we went to have our P.E lesson, as we normally do on Mondays and Fridays.

coffee grinder

In P.E, we were doing break dancing and were focusing on floor moves. In this particular lesson, we were learning how to do the Coffee Grinder first! I know what you’re thinking! Coffee Grinder? What in the world of The Pawsome Lion is that? Well, it’s quite easy to do. First, get into a cannonball position but with your hands out in front of you on the floor. Next, put your left foot out and bring it under your hands to the other side. When you’re in that position, jump over your left foot with your right foot and you should be back in the second position! There you go! Here is a video for more information that you might need:

6 step

The next move that we learned was the 6 Step! As it says in the name, this break dancing move has 6 steps. In that case, I will not list the instructions down coz it’s super hard! Anyway, it’s really cool if you know how to do it and if you take it slow, you will master it in no time! For the instructions, here is a video for you containing all the information you need:

giraffe sketched

After P.E, we went to lunch. When lunch was finished, we came back to class, did the register and started another calming session of sketching. This time, we sketched a realistic giraffe. We added some spots and a nice scenery in the background. In my picture, I also put in some falling leaves and the giraffe’s shadow as some additional details.

luxuriate

Then, when we finished our sketching, we all went home to start our luxuriating weekends…

Well, that’s it for this week! I hope that you have enjoyed the weekends too! Until next time, tạm biệt!

Goodbye 2015…Hello 2016!

Life-Is-A-Roller-Coaster-With-Highs-And-Lows

My family’s life has been a long rollercoaster ride since 2013! It all started when Mrs Mom got so ill that she had to give up her job. Both me and Mr Dad witnessed how hard it was for her to let go of all the years of her hard work. I can still picture the solemn look on her face when it was her last day. As she was leaving her office, I don’t know how it got out of me but I turned around and said to her, “Don’t worry Mrs Mom! Try and look at it from the brighter side! At least you can spend more time with the family and cook us lots of tastylicious food every day!”

flower.jpg

As we bid farewell to 2013, we were hoping that 2014 would be a better year for all of us. But, it got worse towards the end of 2014 when this time, Mr Dad got extremely ill. Well, we don’t notice it but time flies and we didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to 2014 and we had to welcome 2015 in sorrow.

We kicked off the year of 2015 with a big turn in our life. We had to leave the house we called ‘home’ for more than 10 years! That means that I too had to leave all of my beloved friends and school behind. Just imagine a new house, new neighbourhood, new environment, new school, new friends, new teachers and new everything! But, that’s life! It needs a lot of sacrifices! Like how Mrs Mom sacrificed her job and all those sacrifices Mr Dad made for all of us, the same way, I had to sacrifice my friends and school.

Although 2015 didn’t start very well, things have finally caught up. We might not always know what God has in store for us! One thing for sure is that He always rewards you when you are patient! For my family, the greatest highlight of 2014 would definitely be the new addition to our family which was the arrival of Little Miss Diva! Then, we were blessed once again by the latest addition in our family, the arrival of Baby A in 2015! No matter how big the obstacles we had to face were, God never failed to treat us, just like how He sent Little Miss Diva and Baby A into our lives!

Life is like a wheel, sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down! You can dream big but never put your expectations too high! Sometimes in life, you do need to sacrifice something for the sake of your family! No matter what, as long as we stick together as a family, nothing can ever bring us down! We should never feel hopeless because difficult times always lead to better days. EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING!

17a73071cb468440e8e6e58f19f2fb43.jpg

Today, I am glad that Mrs Mom decided to leave her job because it surely paid off. With her experience and expertise, she has opened up a lot of new doors for me! We definitely make a good team because when we put our heads together, we could definitely rock the world! 😀 I’m also glad that we’ve all supported Mr Dad’s decision of moving to a new place because it has brought us more opportunities and it’s just getting better and better. Last but not least, my sacrificed has also turned out to be fruitful because I am enjoying my new school and it has been pretty remarkable so far packed with excellent achievements! It seems like God has planned everything perfectly for all of us!!

As I’m writing, it’s exactly 10 more minutes till I have to wave goodbye to 2015 and say hello to 2016! Thank you 2015 for all the challenges that have made me grow wiser. I am looking forward to face 2016! Maybe it might be a year filled with brilliant surprises! Who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see… Thank you to all my family and friends that have helped make my life worth living!! Without all of you, I wouldn’t be The Pawsome Lion!!!

Happy 1 Month-aversary!

monthly-milestone-signs-pink_1month-201x300

Hey pawsome peeps! I know that I said that I won’t be posting anything for a few days but I just realised that it’s already been a month since I have started blogging (Whew, time goes so fast, doesn’t it?).

75496_380405402067036_1907930380_n.jpg

I can still remember sitting down with Mrs Mom brainstorming the identity for my new project as if it was only yesterday! After that, we both went through the registration for my own email account, this blog, my own Facebook page, Twitter and also Instagram. I know it’s only been a month but my schedule has changed a lot since I started blogging. To be fair, not only mine, but also Mrs Mom’s, Little Miss Diva’s and Baby A’s too! The level of commitment was so high but I didn’t mind it at all because I’ve witnessed how much time Mrs Mom had sacrificed for me. Mr Dad has also contributed a lot to help make this happen! Thinking of all those sacrifices that were made, I promise myself that I will work harder to drive my blog along the road to success!

So far, I’ve written 26 posts since 2nd November. Wow!!! That’s a lot for 29 days. I should give myself a pat on my back. 🙂 I hope that I can always maintain this level of commitment. Up until now, there were 788 visitors and 2,700 views on my blog. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I checked the statistics on my blog last night! I found out that there are visitors from 15 different countries which have visited my blog till date. They are from:

  1. United Kingdom
  2. Malaysia
  3. Poland
  4. Singapore
  5. United States
  6. Qatar
  7. Bulgaria
  8. Hong Kong SAR China
  9. Indonesia
  10. Australia
  11. Netherlands
  12. Japan
  13. Thailand
  14. Italy
  15. Germany

Now, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have visited my blog and read my pieces of work. I might not know all of you but I can assure you that I am so grateful and honoured to know that people from different parts of the world have spared their precious time to read my humble blog. It’s the greatest feeling that anyone can have!

I would especially like to thank Mr Dad for always believing in me and also to Mrs Mom for all her continuous support and hard work juggling around the house to help make my dreams come true! And how could I ever forget my biggest fans, Little Miss Diva and Baby A! They have been loyal readers of my blog. Every morning, Mrs Mom has to read out my blog to both of them while they sit quietly listening to the posts until she finishes. Little Miss Diva also enjoys looking at all those pictures. It was definitely worth every single bit of effort that I’ve made.

Lots of thank you’s also go to my mentor, Dr. Auntie, who has given me lots of feedback on my writing. Another thank you to Mr OCD Uncle who has always motivated me to do more in life! And of course my next thank you goes to my best buddy, Dadajee (my grandpa)! No one could have supported me the way you did, Dada!! The next people in the line would be Khun Yai Thi Rak Khong Phom (my beloved grandma), my Auntie Kawaii and family, plus my Uncle Pawsome and family for the greatest support ever!!!

Not to forget all the support from Mr Dad’s side of the family too! Thank you Atuk (my paternal grandpa), Anek (my paternal grandma), my uncles, aunties and cousins for your kind support. I really appreciate it!

This next special thank you is dedicated to someone close to my heart, Unclejee. Thank you for all those time you spared to read my writing. Thank you for all those comments you’ve made.Thank you for all the encouragement, positive feedback, text messages and a gazillion other things. Words can’t express how much I appreciate it. Even though we’ve never met, it seems like we’ve got a very strong connection with each other.

Last but not least, I would like to thank my siblings in Hazel. You have been so supportive and also loyal readers of my blog. I could never have done it without all your support. Special thanks to Miss Javed and Miss Hussain. You are both AMAZING!!! 😀

And of course my next thank you would be to all my pawsome teachers and friends in Shireland who have been supporting me as I go along the path to success. Thank you Mr Shephard for all the recognition. I really appreciate it! Thank you Miss Prince for all the appreciation. Thank you Mrs Hussain for being a fan of my story. Thank you my best friend Nimah for being my loyal reader.

This last thank you is for someone very important. I put her last not because she’s least special but because she’s the reason why I am who I am today. Thank you Mrs Lawrence for all your guidance and appreciation. You have spotted my talent from the very beginning and has always believe that I could do more and more. I may have been 5 years old at that time. But, Mrs Mom would never let me forget all the hard work you’ve put into me. If you are reading this, please know that I will never forget you, ever!!!

Now, hold your horses coz all of you PAWSOME peeps have been so AWESOME and have been leaving MORESOME comments. That makes all of you ROARSOME!!!!! So again, a big fat THANK YOU to everyone for supporting me. Happy 1 Month-aversary!

“We must always appreciate all the support that people have given us at any time. It is just like respect!”

Four Unexpected Surprises!

Gt+g+day+mate+i+lost+_233100f286659db457a11f425dba9247

G’day mate! Watch’ya doin’?

Unknown

Today was another uninteresting school day but it’s still good coz of the four surprises that I can’t wait to tell you about and also because… I GET TO SLEEP LATE TONIGHT (I doubt I’ll even stay awake until 10:00pm 😀 )!!!! FYI, it’s Friday so I’m allowed to stay up late. Anyway, about the surprises, I’ll get to them later. For now, I’ll just carry on with my story…

tumblr_lgb0a4ssjn1qbq2p4

Today, when I went to school, the first thing we did was go to our Maths classes (of course we did the register first!). So, we went off to our exhausting classes where Maths questions lay waiting for us. Fortunately, Unexpected Surprise No. 1 came to save us (well, just both of us)! And the surprise was… a lesson observation! Me and another girl called Leena had to go to Year 6 and do a lesson observation in one of the classes. The reason why two people had to go was because Leena wasn’t really confident to do it by herself. So, Miss Prince chose me to go with Leena to help her. Well, actually, it’s fair enough for her to be nervous because it was her first time plus, she had to observe Year 6. As for me, I’ve already done a lesson observation with Mr Shephard in the past and we also had some training with JLT. I felt so honoured that Miss Prince chose me to help someone with a lesson observation. Thanks Miss Prince for the great opportunity!!

observations.jpg

When we were done with the observation, me and Leena went back to our Maths classes. When we walked in, they were all solving a question on the board. There were already whiteboards and marker pens out on the tables. I sat down and started to solve the question. As soon as my pen touched the board and made just one single dot, it was time to pack up! 😛

Star and Wish

Anyhow, when we went back to our normal classes, Hazel class, which was my class, was being observed by Miss Prince and Miss Stringer (the vice principal)! Miss Javed had been preparing us for this for the whole morning. When they finally arrived, we were all so nervous. While Miss Javed was talking to us, she was constantly glancing at both of the members of the SLT (Senior Leadership Team). The lesson that we were in right now was Literacy. The learning objective was to peer assess. Peer assess means to mark each other’s work. What the teacher normally does in our books is write Two Stars and a Wish. One star is one thing that you have done really well. The other star is something else that you have done really well and the wish is something that you need to improve on. So, Miss Javed gave us a sheet with two stars and a wish on it and we had to use that to mark their work. And guess what we were using to write…THE TEACHER’S RED PENS!!! How cool is that? And the other thing is that we were great in the observation. But, we were still left without an answer. Miss Javed was so proud of us.

After Literacy, we had our break. Then, when we came back in, we had a Learning Together lesson. Learning Together is a lesson when we learn about different themes like the Tudors, the Aztecs etc. This half term, we were learning about the Aztecs! We did a quick cutting and sticking activity then went to lunch.

For lunch today, I had:

  1. Fish
  2. Chips
  3. Peas and sweetcorn
  4. Ketchup
  5. Sweet chilli sauce
  6. Juice

After lunch, we continued with our Learning Together lesson. We carried on with our cutting and sticking then eventually got to the end. After that, we watched some of the movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Then, we went down to assembly. That’s when Unexpected Surprise No. 2 was unveiled. And that surprise was something that I had been waiting for a long time. I had been working really hard on it and in the end, I achieved it. Like they say, no pain, no gain! Anyway, the surprise was… MY PEN LICENCE! Yay! I felt so proud and grateful that my name was mentioned when I walked out in front of everyone.

At the end of the day, we all went home to have a great movie night or have a big feast. Then, late in the night, there was a strange knock on the door. When Mr. Dad opened the door, the faces of two policemen were revealed. They said that a person walking past heard a child crying. We all then said that it was Baby ‘A’ who was crying because he was a bit poorly. But, even when he’s not poorly, Baby ‘A’ always cries when Mrs. Mom gives Little Miss Diva a shower. I guess he’s just jealous of her. Unusually, they were very kind policemen. They even wrote down their names on my notebook for me! In return, I gave them some of my name cards so that they could read my blog. And right now, I hope that they’re reading this post. And that was Unexpected Surprise No. 3!

Aah, I forgot the one last surprise. While I was doing my writing, Mrs. Mom called me to see a special surprise outside. When I went to look, there was snow filling the garden! Snow in November! How cool is that?
