Giving Thanks On This Special Day!

Twelve years ago, I was sent as a blessing from God to an amazing couple who I am now proud to call Mrs Mom and Mr Dad. They said I was their #LuckyNumber1, but really I am the one who is blessed to have such PAWSOME parents!

Some may think I was born with intelligence, but that’s not the truth at all! My parents were the soul source of all my skills. They identified my interests, and from day 1, they guided me and eventually helped to shape me into who I am today! I am often complimented for my skills, and I really appreciate it! But I must say, all this praise should be going to my parents! Behind every great child, there are two even greater parents! In my case, that is Mrs Mom and Mr Dad! They have made a lot of sacrifices to make my future as bright as it can be!

So for my birthday, I insisted my parents not to get me any gifts or even a cake. Anyway, it feels wrong after knowing that Mrs Mom endured more than 24 hours of labour pain to bring me into this world! Not forgotten, my parents had to go through a lot of challenges to raise me in a foreign country away from their families. If I told you all the things they did for me, from pregnancy until now, it would be endless! I couldn’t possibly repay them enough!

So today, on my twelfth birthday, I humbly ask everyone to pray for my wonderful parents, Mrs Mom and Mr Dad! All acknowledgement is due to them! Because honestly, they’re the ones who deserve it, not me! I mean, look at all the things that they have cherished over the years. They still kept most of the things from the pregnancy days up until now! Believe it or not, they have my lock of hair from my first haircut and even the pregnancy test! Not only that, there are lots of other bits and bobs too!

As for me, I’d like to give my parents a great big THANK YOU, a warm hug, kisses and prayers and, most importantly, the sincere love that only a truly grateful son can give! Thank you, Mrs Mom and Mr Dad! You’re the greatest gifts that any child could ever get on his birthday!

Fatimah’s 4th Birthday!

*Dedicated to my li’l’ PAWSOME sister, Fatimah*

Time seems to fly sometimes, without you even knowing it, and this was especially true with Fatimah! It seems like only yesterday when I was 7 and Fatimah was born into the family, bringing joy and laughter. I can clearly remember when she was small enough to fit into my hands and only just starting to crawl – but look where she is now! She’s walkin’, talkin’ and as much of a diva as you can be (a lovely diva, that is)! And today, she’s…

TURNING 4!!!!!!!!

Yep, you read it right! It’s the 3rd of January 2018, a.k.a Fatimah’s 4th birthday, one of the most special dates in our family!

Fatimah is one of the best people I know, and I’m so glad to have her as a sister! She’s very loving, and protective when it comes to her family! She’s really confident in speaking, like when she’s doing ‘The Fatimah Show’. Fatimah also loves cooking, and enjoys making cookery videos, just like Mamajee @adamdidam. She absolutely loves it when he comes to visit because they will be able to do it together! She also likes me to cook with her and I must admit, it’s quite an enjoyable experience! The first time I cooked with her, I was expecting her to ask for help, but in the end, she was the one helping me! I guess she’s mastered all the techniques because she always helps Mr Dad when he’s cooking!

Fatimah is also a playful and imaginative girl. She enjoys making stories with her toys, running a pretend restaurant with them as the customers and making sure her brother Ali has a part by putting him in the role of head chef, or going on a trek through the forest! Speaking of which, she’s VERY active! She always manages to get exercise, inside or outside, doing things like yoga and dancing, especially to Bollywood songs! But above all, she’s always well-behaved and highly mannered. Another favourite hobby of hers is arts and crafts. Cutting, sticking, painting, making collages, she loves it all! Not to forget, I’m glad that me and Fatimah share the same hobby, READING, as I have ORD (Obsessive Reading Disorder! 😉 ) She enjoys storytelling too!

These are only a few of the reasons I feel blessed to have Fatimah as a sister! I couldn’t have asked for more from God! On her 4th birthday, she’s already such a mature child! Fatimah, I wish you all the best for the future! May God shower you with His eternal blessings and keep you in His safeguarding! I wanted to give you a special birthday present for you this year, since you’re so grown up, and I decided that instead of a poem, I’d give you something special that you could keep with you, always. So here it is below – a special drawing of you, from a brother to a sister! I used lots and lots of colours to capture your loving, lively and playful personality, so it can remind you of your childhood, to tell you to always remain carefree, and of course, to let you remember that we will all be with you in your heart, and you’ll be in ours!

I’m sorry that I haven’t been updating you on my blog lately! A lot of things have been happening since it is the Winter Holidays. My schedule was fully packed and at the same time, I was working on my next SPECIAL project. There was also a special surprise! It wasn’t Santa Claus, it was DR AUNTIE!!!!!

She came over to visit me on Friday and it’s normal of her to come and visit me at this time of year because it’s the holidays. Perfect timing, Dr Auntie! I actually didn’t even know that she would be coming to visit me on that day! That’s because she likes to surprise me, Little Miss Diva and Baby A all the time.

As usual, she brought along a lot of gifts with her all packed into a separate bag. They were new clothes! YAY!!! There were all sorts of different clothes like fleeces, jackets, hoodies, trousers, socks, shirts, pyjamas and lots of other things. I had nearly 20 shirts that were from Dr Auntie! They had pictures of London, the USA flag, the Golden Gate Bridge, rugby teams and letters from the alphabet on them. I also received two new fleece pyjamas and I love wearing them! The person that enjoyed trying on new clothes was none other than Little Miss Diva! She just ADORED all of her new clothes.

Then, on Tuesday, me and Dr Auntie went out to buy more gifts like chocolate, chocolate and even more chocolate! Now the pantry is filled with chocolate once again!!! We also bought things like crisps, strawberry flavoured dessert sauce, mints, vitamins and shower cream. The thing that we mostly bought though was CHOCOLATE! There were tons and tons of chocolate in our shopping cart and we couldn’t fit anything else in it! When we got home, my arm was aching because I was carrying too much things home. At least I could sit down and enjoy all the food that me and Dr Auntie bought after putting down all the shopping bags!

So yes, it has been a loaded holiday so far with surprises, shopping and special projects! I am looking forward to the fun activities that I have planned for the rest of the holidays! But, don’t worry! For all of you The Box in the Window fans, Part 5 is coming out soon!!! 😉 Till next time, farewell!
