5 Years Of Sparking Joy!

This is my brother, Ali Omar Mukhlis. He’s brought light and happiness into our lives for so long…and today marks 5 years since he was brought into this world and began showering us with joy!

Ali is more than just a brother: he is an amazing son that surprised Mrs Mom and Mr Dad – their very own #SurpriseNumber3! He’s a best friend that’s always fun to be around – even the rainiest days seem like summer with him. His smile, his laugh, and his joking personality all make him a lovely lil’ guy, but what’s most important is that underneath that cheekiness is a kind, caring heart that loves and keeps all of his family and friends close. In his own way, Ali manages to love us and make us the happiest we can be. And as he grows, his love only gets bigger…as well as his hugs!

Today, this fun-loving, family-minded, part-time artist and full-time foodie officially turns five years old! In truth, it feels much longer than that – the joy-filled five years I’ve spent with Ali, from the moment I walked into that hospital room to greet my newborn baby brother, all the way up until now, has seemed like an eternity (and a very well-spent one at that). Me and Fatimah are so lucky to have him as our brother, and there’s no denying how great a son he has been to Mrs Mom and Mr Dad!

For his 5th birthday, I pray that Allah blesses Ali with all the good things He has to offer, and rewards him for the happiness he has given us by showering him with a hundred times the amount of joy he has given! I pray that these five years he has spent with us will only be the first few of many, and that Allah guides him on the right path and he continues to spread joy.

Happy 5th Birthday, Ali! Never stop making people happy…

Your Lalajee,

Omar Mukhtar

My Dadajee’s Super Sweet 70th Birthday!

If you were to choose one inspirational person from your life, who would it be? Your mum? Your dad? Your teacher? Greta Thunberg? The world has so many motivational people out there, but it takes someone special to stand out to you personally. For me, that is my Dadajee!

I have always looked up to everyone in my family. My parents, for not only being present in my childhood, but for being involved; my aunt @drauntie.uk, for being an amazing role model; and of course, my Mamajee @adamdidam, for being the bright spark in my life.

But Dadajee is something else altogether. He is all of these things – and more! There are over a million words in the English language, but not a single one can fully describe just how PAWSOME my Dadajee is!

Dadajee has always been the one everyone in our family looks to for advice. They say that with age comes wisdom, but as far as I can tell, wisdom came to him before age did! After all, he was the one that taught Mrs Mom, Dr Auntie, Mamajee, and everyone else the valuable qualities they have today – take, for example, speaking confidently, a skill which Dadajee taught so well it has even been passed on to Fatimah!

So earlier on, I said that there are no words to describe my Dadajee, but if there’s anything that comes close, it would be ‘jack of all trades’! That’s right, Dadajee is multi-talented, and even after knowing him for 13 years, he still never fails to surprise me with his skills. His many talents account for his ever-interesting personality – not a dull moment goes by when you’re with my Dadajee!

But most importantly, my Dadajee is LOVING, KIND, FUNNY and HUMBLE! If there is anyone I would follow in the footsteps of, it is my Dadajee. And what with the loss of our beloved Mamajee, when we were all struggling, Dadajee proved just how CARING he was by holding us all together when the glue that bound us weakened with the loss. Truly, I aspire to be just like my Dadajee when I grow up!

Dadajee’s 70th birthday is certainly a day we all look upon as a day to celebrate not Dadajee’s age, but himself, as a person with a brilliant character! After all, it is not age that defines a person, but their values and characteristics. Dadajee deserves to be celebrated, and we are all very lucky to have him!

Happy 70th Birthday Dadajee! May Allah make this a day full of joy and cheer. May He grant you many more happy, healthy years of life and may He reserve you the highest place in Jannah. Last but not least, I just want to say that I love you with all my heart, just as you are, and that I never want you to change, because you are already PAWSOME!

Love,

Omar Mukhtar – Dadajee’s 1st Grandson

p/s: Please come back to visit soon! All of your family here in the U.K. miss you very much…❤️

Happy Birthday To My Second Mother!

💌 Dear Dr Auntie,

Remember all those times when you said that no matter what happened, you’d always love me? From the day I was born, you’ve always been my second mother. Your warmth has always graced me, your kindness has always been present, and your love is like no other’s! There’s something about you that’s just naturally comforting. Whenever I feel down, just being next to you is enough to make me feel so much better! How do you do it? Perhaps it’s your motherly love. Your instantly engaging personality. Your witty sense of humour. Your abundant love. Maybe that’s your natural gift. You are a second mother, not just to me, but to Fatimah and Ali too. We are truly blessed to have not just one mother, but two! And you’re so much more than that! You’re a love-giver. A care-sharer. An adviser. A consoler. A best friend. You’re not just an auntie! You’re right there by our side through thick and thin. Wherever you may be, you’re just a phone call away, I know I can rely on you to be someone to confide with, anytime, anywhere – even now, when you’re halfway across the world! Still, that isn’t enough to keep me from missing you; please come back soon! Your love has never faltered for your parents, your siblings or your nephews and nieces. You are a joy to be with,  and you’re such an amazing person that even everything I’ve said here couldn’t begin to describe how amazing you are! You’ve done so much for us through the years, given us so much, sacrificed so much, and taught us so much. A thousand letters like this wouldn’t be enough to repay you! But from the bottom of my heart, on behalf of all the family, for everything you’ve ever done for us, I want to give you a genuine, heartfelt…THANK YOU! On your special day, may Allah shower you with His countless blessings, today and every day. May He reserve you a big palace with a beautiful garden in Jannatul Firdaus…

Happy Birthday,

Omar Mukhtar

p/s: And I promise that I will take care of you forever…and ever…and ever…and ever!

My Dadajee Is 69 Years Young!

dadajee's 69th birthday

This is one of my favourite photos of Dadajee, because I think that there’s some resemblance between me and him here – though I could never match his handsomeness…

Dadajee is one of my role models. I look up to him as the best person to ask for consolation when I’m feeling down. We practically share everything! Even though we live halfway across the world from each other, there’s nothing that we don’t know about each other! He’s also someone to ask for advice when in doubt. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone as wise as him! He’s also really kind, loving, and funny. I would love to have all his qualities – in other words, I absolutely adore my Dadajee!

I find him very inspiring because of the fact that not only is he multi-talented and wise, but he is also very humble and down-to-earth, which makes him even more lovable! I don’t think our family would be complete without him, and we’re really lucky to have him!

In short, Dadajee is one of the people that I love most! Happy 69th Birthday, Dadajee! Hope your birthday is filled with lots of joy and warmth! We all love you so much, and we really miss you! On this special day, I pray to God that He gives you a long blessed life and grant you your heart’s desires. May He rid you of all troubles and make you the happiest man in this world and the next! May He give you peace and abundance! But there’s only one thing I ask of you: never stop being you, because you are the GREATEST GRANDPA EVER!

Your first grandson,

Fatimah Turns 5!

Dear Fatimah,

You’ve grown one year older, and I’d just like to say

That I wish you a very Happy 5th Birthday!

Oh, how time flies! I can never forget

When I was all lonely and then we first met

You brought a smile to my face, you tickled me silly,

You gave joy to me and the family!

Now you’re all grown up, and I again say,

Happy Birthday! May God make this the best of all days!

Happy 68th Birthday Dadajee!

dadajee 1.jpg

Dear Dadajee,

It’s 7th of January 2018, your 68th birthday! You’re the best grandfather anybody could ask for, so on your special day, I pray to God that He will reward you for all the good deeds you have done! May God grant you a long life, filled with good health and all the happiness in the world. May He make all your wishes come true and shower you with His eternal blessings. And most important of all, may He reserve you the best place in Heaven and enable you to be the richest man in Paradise! I really wish I could be there with you on such an occasion – I miss you a lot! Hopefully, we can all be together again soon!

Thank you for always being that person who stood by my side no matter what! You were continuously helping me, advising me and guiding me in life. You made many sacrifices, like when you volunteered to stay behind when everybody went on an outing, just to help time my tests when I was studying for the 11+. You stayed with me from morning till evening, making sure I prayed and ate on time too! Not only that, you made sure I had enough sleep and rest, so I didn’t overwork myself. But most of all, I want to say thank you for making us all smile, laugh and stay cheerful! Your jokes, warm hugs, and even your smile could light up the whole world!

Thank you for everything, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Your loving grandson,

Omar Mukhtar

Simply The Best!

HAPPYBIRTHDAY

There are two dates in November that are special to my family: the 10th and the 14th.

Mrs Mom always told us that me, Fatimah and Ali were lucky to have a second mother.

Fatimah and Ali used to ask who that other mother was, but I knew just the person Mrs Mom was talking about. Dr Auntie, Mrs Mom’s elder sister, was someone who had been there for us right from the start. She’s not just your average auntie! Out of everybody on Earth, I haven’t met anybody that could replace her! She’s loving and understanding, and it seems that her heart is made of pure gold.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a day go by without Mrs Mom and Dr Auntie talking to each other, and by that, I don’t mean just once, I mean at least 10 times (or 100, I lose count)! Mrs Mom and Dr Auntie are tightly knit and are very close sisters; I think we only ever need to make a phone call if we’re in urgent need of help! Sometimes, Mrs Mom doesn’t break any good news to us until Dr Auntie is tuned in and listening! And that is how important she is to the family!

Another great trait that makes Dr Auntie ‘Dr Auntie’ is that she’ll never say no, and will do anything to fulfil our needs. I think that if I asked her for £1,000,000, she’d rob a bank just for me (although, of course, she’s an honest and kind person, so I highly doubt that she’ll do anything of the sort. I really need to read those T’s and C’s.)!

I can still remember how she used to always find a way to make me happy when I was little. She knew I was the kind of kid that absolutely LOVED opening presents, so, on top all the other presents she’d got for my birthday, she’d take the wrapping paper and wrap anything she could find – literally. Books, socks, pens, plates. In fact, I still recall one account where I was surprised with a biscuit! Isn’t she sweet?

There’s many other qualities that make her probably the best auntie ever (subject to prejudice and sheer adoration!), so it’s no wonder nobody was like her! She’s my biggest inspiration and is somebody that always tries hard! She won’t give up and will not stop at anything to help her family! She’s definitely the role model to follow! Now, coming back to those two special dates in November, the 14th marks Dr Auntie’s birthday! The whole family looks forward to this day, because it’s that time of the year when we can really thank her for everything she’s done for us!

Dr Auntie has, of course, done many favours for me too, so I have specially dedicated a poem to her, which, I must admit, is small compared to what she has done for me, but is my way of saying thank you. Dr Auntie, this is for you!

Dedicated to Dr Auntie

There’s millions of people in the world,

But none of them are quite like you,

You’re funny, loving, you’ve got a heart of gold!

And you make us feel like “YAY!” when we’re blue

You’re always there when we need help,

We can just give you a yelp!

A mother you are similar to,

It seems there’s nothing you can’t do!

You’re always by our side,

In the dark, you’re our brightening guide!

And I’d gladly go on and on,

Because when you’re around, no hope is gone!

But it is somebody’s special day,

And it’s a reason for you to shout HOORAY!

Because HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It’s YOUR special day!

Happy birthday, Dr Auntie! May God make this the best birthday ever!

p/s: Dear Dr Auntie, please pray for my interview, so I can bring back the biggest birthday present of all!

Who Else But Mum!?

(A poem written by The Pawsome Lion)

~Dedicated to Mrs Mom

I still remember how you smiled at me,

And that twinkle in your eyes,

Our laughs when we had fun,

The tears of joy we shared

I still remember how you helped me up

When I fell to the floor,

Your hugs when I felt down,

Your praise when I had done well

I still remember after all these years

How kind you’ve been to me,

How great you’ve been to my brother,

How great you’ve been to my sister

And I still come to you for hugs,

For smiles, for advice, for a laugh,

Because I think,

Who else but mum,

To go to for joy!?

Who else but mum,

To go to for help!?

Who else? Who else? Who else but mum!?

And on this very special day,

I’d like to say…

Happy Birthday!

To the best mother in the world!

11 Things I Love About You

Dear Mr Dad,

The 17th of June has always been a date that our family looks forward to. Yes, it’s your birthday and it’s right next to Father’s Day (Lucky you!)! That’s why I’m writing this post!

Over the years, you’ve been a PAWSOME father and a great husband for Mrs Mom, and you’ve made a lot of sacrifices for us. Ever since I was born, you’ve been like my best friend and you haven’t failed to keep Little Miss Diva and Ali the Salt Bubba happy too! You’ve got a great sense of humour and you’ve got a heart of pure gold! You’ve supported us and loved us with all your heart and you’ve always stood by our side. You are a very -and I mean VERY – PAWSOME dad! After all, you are the one and only Mr Dad! So, we’d all like to say THANK YOU for everything you’ve done! We really appreciate it! And since it’s such a special occasion, I’ve written a lovely (hopefully you’ll find it that way) poem, just for you!

11 Things I Love About You

A poem written by Omar Mukhtar, The Pawsome Lion on behalf of the whole family

Fatimah The Little Miss Diva, Ali The Salt Bubba and Mrs Mom

I love the way you keep us happy,

The way you sing to us,

I love how you smile at us in the morning,

The way you advise us

I love the way you play chess with me,

The way you comb our hair,

I love how you know how to make us laugh,

The way you help with your great sense of fashion

I love the way you love Mrs Mom,

And how you care for her,

But most importantly, I love the way you stand by our side

Which makes you a PAWSOME father!

And on this special day, I’d like to say…

Happy Birthday! Happy Father’s Day!

From your loving family!

Happy birthday and Happy Father’s Day, Mr Dad! We hope they both turn out to be great days! May God grant all of your wishes and make them the best days ever! 😀

p/s: Dear God,

Please reserve my dad the best place in heaven coz he totally deserves it!

The One for Me!

to-a-great-dad.jpg

This post is dedicated to someone very special who has devoted their whole life to me. Of course, that person is no one other than…Mr Dad ! It was his birthday on Friday and I thought it would be a great idea to write a post just for him as a birthday present!

Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad, and that’s why Mr Dad is the one for me! He always stands out from the crowd. He is a loving and caring father and listens to everything I have to say. He also has a heart of gold! Mr Dad’s fun, has a sense of humour and he never fails to keep the whole family happy! He has taken good care of me ever since I was born and from then on, he has been like a friend! Every dad is special but my dad is different. That’s because he’s the one and only Mr Dad!

As a coincidence, Mr Dad’s birthday is also near the date of Father’s Day! Wow! This means that he’s going to get more presents than anyone in the world! And, it also means that I have time to give Mr Dad one more very extra-special present, his very own birthday poem! So, here goes!

My Father!

(By The Pawsome Lion)

My father is the greatest, he’s the one to beat!

Don’t mess with him because he’s as fit as an athlete!

My father can do anything, anything at all,

From cooking to cleaning to singing all day, and he’s CRAZY ’bout football!

My father is the best to me, he cannot be replaced,

If I stick with him then everything can be aced!

My father can be a busy bee

But get this, he’s still the one for me!

And when I think of him

This is what ‘FATHER’ means to me:

F   riendly

      A   lways caring

T   he best

H     elpful

         E   verlasting love

    R   ighteous

Before I go, there’s one more thing I would like to share with everyone. An EXCLUSIVE video of Mr Dad making pizzas! I guarantee that it’ll make you say “WOW!”. Here it is:

Once again, Happy Birthday and Father’s Day, Mr Dad! Hope you have a great 2 days! I’m sure you’ll enjoy everything from the cake to the presents!

p/s: Leave a comment if you do anything special for your father this Father’s Day!
