🍰 A Piece of Cake: A Book-less Tragedy! πŸ˜΅

It was the Easter holidays and I was in my dad’s car πŸš—, holding a huge pile of books πŸ“š in my hands. We were going to the library to exchange them for some new ones. When we reached the library, we started looking for a place to park the car. To our surprise, we found that there were hardly any cars outside it.

β€œStrange…” I said. πŸ€”

β€œOh well, now we’ve found a place to park the car!” my dad said cheerfully. πŸ˜ƒ He hated the long searches for a space to park.

My dad turned the ignition off and unlocked the doors. I heaved the books up and stepped out of the car. Struggling to see above the books, I staggered over to the library’s main entrance – and discovered that all the libraries were closed for the Easter holidays! I couldn’t believe it! How was I going to live without a single book to read? I was sure to die a slow painful death πŸ’€ in a BOOK-LESS world…

Pawsome Book Club: Space Shuttle Blasts Off by Peter Bently

Ni Hao pawsome peeps!

This post is going to be book review, yet again! This review is going to be for another children’s book. I thought that it might be useful for parents with bookworms! This post will be featuring Little Miss Diva!!! Now, the book that we have read is called…Space Shuttle Blasts Off by Peter Bently!

IMG_2334.JPG

Me and Little Miss Diva think that the front cover of this book is really cool! A panda in a space ship⁉️ WOW!!!

The main characters in this book are Commander Mandy and Co-Pilot Andy. The crew have to go to space to collect and repair a broken satellite. But who will they meet on the way?

If your child is a boy or a girl and they love books, then they will enjoy every moment of this book. Even if they aren’t bookworms but are into things related to space, they would definitely like to read this! But since this is from Little Miss Diva’s point of view, she says that she wants to rate this book 3 stars! She didn’t like it very much 😦 . I think it’s because she’s still missing Max! But I would say that this book is great! The illustrations are vibrant, the words are easy to read and it is also educational! If you would like to get this book for your child, just ask at your local library today!

I have to stop there pawsome peeps! I need to go now! But remember watch out for the next book review from my Pawsome Book Club!

The BFR – Summer Reading Challenge

Hey pawsome peeps! Hope all is well…

Yesterday was officially the first day of the Summer Holidays! Yay!!! 😎 I have got a very jam-packed plan to keep me busy all throughout the summer, and I’m sure your schedule is too. Talking about keeping ourselves occupied, a PAWSOME challenge was recently launched last week on Saturday 16th July. It was called…The Summer Reading Challenge! Β πŸ“š It is a reading challenge that takes place in the summer holidays every year.

BFR-summer_reading_challenge

Since The Summer Reading Challenge is a yearly thing, there is a theme for each one. This year the theme is called The Big Friendly Read and it is marking 100 years of the world’s famous storyteller, Roald Dahl! That’s why the title sounds like one of Roald’s well-known books, The Big Friendly Giant or The BFG!

Moving on, I will tell you the purpose of this challenge. Nowadays, children are playing video games and watching TV. The aim of the challenge is to encourage children to drop everything, grab a book and start reading! Believe it or not, reading can take you on the journey of a lifetime! If you want to find out more details about it, you can visit the website: http://www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk Β On their website, you will find a book count and till now, 543, 877 books have been read! WOW!!! That’s a lot! I bet that when summer ends, we can reach a million!

To complete this challenge, you will to have to read 6 library books of your choice and visit the library 3 times. As you progress throughout the challenge, you will be rewarded with amazing things like rainbow glasses and wristbands. And, at the end of the summer holidays, your local library’s representative will go to your school and give you 2 final awards, a medal and a certificate! πŸ†

Last week, me and Little Miss Diva already signed up for The Summer Reading Challenge at Thimblemill Library, our local library, and we borrowed 2 books each. We also got a cool folder called The Collector Card Folder. It will be used to store our collector cards each time we visit. I have already finished my first book and I’ve just got a few more pages left in my second book. I’ll be going back tomorrow to exchange them for another 2 new books. Maybe I’ll get some collector cards then!

To end this post, I am pleading to everyone, spend your summertime wisely! Don’t waste it away, sign up for The Summer Reading Challenge! That means less time on Minecraft and Pokemon Go! πŸ˜‰ Don’t delay, read today so TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD! πŸ’ͺ
