๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸA Wonderful Week!๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

Howdy pawsome peeps! Today, I’ll tell you about this week and how it has been. I hope you will enjoy it.ย So, without further ado, let’s get recounting!

under the weather

At the start of this week, I was feeling under the weather. In that case, I couldn’t go to school for TWO WHOLE DAYS!!! And we all know that if I miss school, it will be like the end of the world, especially missing two days of school! I was even crying on the second day! But, the upside of staying at home was that I got to spend time with Little Miss Diva and Baby A. XD

Then, on Wednesday, I finally went to school! I had been waiting for the day I could go back to school and meet all of my friends. On that day, it was our FLIP Workshop. A FLIP Workshop is when parents come to their child’s/children’s school, ascertain what they are learning and find out mental and written methods in Maths, Literacy or any other subject.

In this particular FLIP Workshop, we were learning a new mental strategy for adding and subtracting. If you want to add, you would have to first partition both numbers (the number you’re going to be adding to and the number you will be adding). After that, you add the hundreds together (depending on what number you have), the tens together and the units together. Once you have done that, you need to recombine all of your answers together. If you are subtracting, it’s pretty much the same as adding. But, this time, you only partition one number, which is the number you are going to subtract from.

When we were finished with the FLIP Workshop, we started our Literacy lesson. In Literacy, we were going to look at non-chronological reports. A non-chronological report is a report that does not have to be in time order. If it is a chronological report, it is just the opposite. Since we were learning about Madagascar in Literacy, we were looking at non-chronological reports about Madagascan animals. There was a hippo, a lion, a zebra, a giraffe, a lemur and many more. After that, we carried on with the school day.

snowing

The next day, I woke up with the most wonderful surprise. It was 2016’s first snowfall! โ„๏ธ I looked at it in awe for a while. Then, I quickly got ready for school and jumped inside Mr ย Dad’s car. It was SOOO cold, even inside the car! When I arrived at school, there was snow everywhere! Unfortunately, the snow melted completely when all of us went outside. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But, we still enjoyed it while it lasted!

We also did Literacy and Maths too. Then, two things that were really exciting happened in the afternoon! First, we did some sketching! We sketched a PAWSOME lion with the whole class. Miss Javed sketched one too and it looked beautiful! If you want to do some sketching, here’s the website where you can get step-by-step instructions:

Finally, the highlight of the afternoon came. We went to see…an animal man!!!!! Because we are learning about the Amazon Rainforest and Madagascar, the animal man brought a large range of interesting animals for us to look at and touch.

cockroach

When we all finished our sketching, we quickly lined up and went down to the media suite where we would find the animal man. Inside the media suite, we found him sitting on a chair surrounded with lots of animals. He then introduced himself and brought out the first animal! It was (drum roll please!)…Madagascan hissing cockroaches!!! I was shaking and trembling when the animal man took the cockroaches out. Then, with no warning whatsoever, he threw a cockroach into someone’s lap and we were all screaming and shouting! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Finally, the torture was over after he put the cockroaches back in their box.

bearded dragon and gecko

After the cockroaches, the man brought out a bearded dragon and a cute lil’ gecko! We weren’t allowed to touch the gecko but we could all touch the fierce looking bearded dragon. Both of the animals stared at us as we touched them and looked at them. I guess they were really interested in us! ๐Ÿ˜›

albino-african-pygmy-hedge

The next animal to come out was the one and only Ella, the Albino pygmy hedgehog! The animal man told us Ella was blind and she could only rely on her sense of smell and hearing. So, it was very important that we didn’t scare her. He then brought Ella around so we could pet her. When it was my go, I saw that Ella had big, shiny, red eyes that stood out from her face.

albino skunk

Then, the man brought out the stinkiest animal of them all. Can you guess? Yes, that’s right! It was a stinky, smelly, ย silly old Albino skunk! We found out that the skunk had been rolling around in urineย and he made himself turn yellow because of that! This time, we all nervously touched the skunk, thinking that he might spray on us any moment. The animal man told us not to worry and to buy tomato juice to get rid of the smell!

Barn_owl

Next came the elegant barn owl, which has 14 neck bones! A barn owl has a great sense of hearing. It’s better than a human’s sense of hearing! Once again, the animal man took the barn owl and brought it around so we could stroke it. It definitely wanted to get off the man’s hand now and explore. And so, the animal man let him fly freely. But, he decided to sit on the interactive whiteboard and watch TV! XD

ball python

Last but not least, the animal man brought out the greatest animal of all, the fantastic Ball Python! The Ball Python felt scaly, cold and was deadly. Miss Javed actually put the python around her neck and took a selfie with it! What a great idea! The python was also attracted to the iPad and it didn’t move. When we were lining up, we got the chance to feel the python as we went out. Phew! That was over now!

Finally, we move on to Friday! Friday was a normal school day. The only thing that brightened up the day (or made the day colder) was more snow!ย We did Literacy, Maths and whatnot. Then, we went to have our P.E lesson, as we normally do on Mondays and Fridays.

coffee grinder

In P.E, we were doing break dancing and were focusing on floor moves. In this particular lesson, we were learning how to do the Coffee Grinder first!ย I know what you’re thinking! Coffee Grinder? What in the world of The Pawsome Lion is that? Well, it’s quite easy to do. First, get into a cannonball position but with your hands out in front of you on the floor. Next, put your left foot out and bring it under your hands to the other side. When you’re in that position, jump over your left foot with your right foot and you should be back in the second position! There you go! Here is a video for more information that you might need:

6 step

The next move that we learned was the 6 Step! As it says in the name, this break dancing move has 6 steps. In that case, I will not list the instructions down coz it’s super hard! Anyway, it’s really cool if you know how to do it and if you take it slow, you will master it in no time! For the instructions, here is a video for you containing all the information you need:

giraffe sketched

After P.E, we went to lunch. When lunch was finished, we came back to class, did the register and started another calming session of sketching. This time, we sketched a realistic giraffe. We added some spots and a nice scenery in the background. In my picture, I also put in some falling leaves and the giraffe’s shadow as some additional details.

luxuriate

Then, when we finished our sketching, we all went home to start ourย luxuriating weekends…

Well, that’s it for this week! I hope that you have enjoyed the weekends too! Until next time, tแบกm biแป‡t!
