A Hectic Week!!!

hectic

Hiya pawsome peeps! How’s it going?

How was your week? This week has been hectic for all of us at school! Want to find out more? Then read below…

When everyone came to school on Monday, we thought that it was going to be another normal week at school. All that we knew was that the Year 6 SATs tests were going to take place this week-until Miss Javed broke the news to us.

She said that two inspectors from Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) would be visiting us on Wednesday! And what was our reaction? We were speechless! Speechless and surprised! We didn’t know what to say. We had to get ourselves equipped before the inspectors came and visited us. So, we spent the whole of Tuesday getting ready for Ofsted’s visit.

When the Ofsted inspectors finally came, we were all nervous and scared at the same time. We all tried our best to keep our cool…but we just couldn’t keep our eyes off the door, fearing that they could come in any second! When one of the inspectors exited the classroom after observing it, Miss Javed and Miss Hussain let out a HUGE sigh of relief. The inspectors checked a few more classes and then they left. The pressure was over-for now!

interview

Some children were also interviewed by one the inspectors. There were 3 Junior Leaders (which included me), 2 people called Peer Supporters and 2 people called Prefects who were interviewed. We were interviewed by a lady called Mrs Green. She seemed like a warm and friendly person.

Mrs Green asked us many questions such as who we are, what role we play (e.g. JLT, Prefects), what we do to make the school a better place and so on. We told her that we have done many things to improve the school. For example, we have bought game boxes for our Fabulous Friday (free time), we have organised school events like Children in Need Day and many other things too. We also stated that the school is a very safe place to be in. We all enjoy learning here and some of us even wished that they could stay at this school forever!

We thought that two inspectors were enough. But the next day, 5 INSPECTORS came to school!!! Apparently, we were so good that more people wanted to visit us! Now the pressure was on for real! Luckily, everything went smoothly. More people inspected our class and the feedback was great. But, Ofsted can’t tell us everything until they have finished their final report. I hope that comes back fast!

party

Because we did well in the inspections, on Friday, our teachers decided to treat us. Soooo (drum roll)… we had a fun day! We had extra time outside, we watched films, we had a dance-off in the afternoon and we did a million other things. To put it simple, we partied hard! We all had a great time. It was truly a day to enjoy.

yawn

Oh well, I’ll have to end it here…nearly bedtime for me (#YAWN)! Goodnight!
