HA! Gotcha!! Don’t worry everybody. You can all calm down now…

This blog has only been hijacked by Mrs Mom!!!ย

smug-smile

Maybe all you PAWSOME readersย are wondering where The Pawsome Lion has disappeared to! Has he joined Major Tim Peake, the British astronaut, in the International Space Station? Well, the answer is NO, he hasn’t been that far! Don’t worry coz he is still around! But, let me just give you a clearer update on his current status:

twgThkgnSN-14

As you can see, he is busy juggling the world in his hands! Since The Pawsome Lion has been busy with his tight schedule, I thought, “What could be a better idea than to hijack his blog?” As a New Year’s gift, let me entertain you with a story based on a true event! ๐Ÿ™‚

Based-On-A-True-Story-Key-Art.jpg

Once upon an evening, Mr Dad, Mrs Mom, The Pawsome Lion, Little Miss Diva and Baby A were watching the new show on Good Food, John Torode’s Malaysian Adventure. It was the 4th episode where he headed to Terengganu. In this episode, the tour guide introduced him to a few traditional desserts. One of them was Puteri Mandi which he translated as Princess Showering!!! As soon as we heard that, we started to laugh hysterically! We haven’t stopped laughing at the time when he introduced John to another dessert called Badak Berendam. This time, he translated it to Rhinoceros Swimming!!! We looked at each other, feeling amused and about to burst into another episode of hysterical laughing when all of a sudden…The Pawsome Lion said,

“Hey, it should be Rhinoceros Boiling!!!!!”

At this point, both me (Mrs Mom) and Mr Dad rolled on the floor, laughing our heads off!!!

Moral of the story: Oh My Language!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

p/s: Have fun using Google Translate if you’re curious to find out the meaning (Google Version) of those desserts & drop a comment to share your findings ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸA Wonderful Week!๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

wonderfulweek.gif

Howdy pawsome peeps! Today, I’ll tell you about this week and how it has been. I hope you will enjoy it.ย So, without further ado, let’s get recounting!

under the weather

At the start of this week, I was feeling under the weather. In that case, I couldn’t go to school for TWO WHOLE DAYS!!! And we all know that if I miss school, it will be like the end of the world, especially missing two days of school! I was even crying on the second day! But, the upside of staying at home was that I got to spend time with Little Miss Diva and Baby A. XD

Then, on Wednesday, I finally went to school! I had been waiting for the day I could go back to school and meet all of my friends. On that day, it was our FLIP Workshop. A FLIP Workshop is when parents come to their child’s/children’s school, ascertain what they are learning and find out mental and written methods in Maths, Literacy or any other subject.

In this particular FLIP Workshop, we were learning a new mental strategy for adding and subtracting. If you want to add, you would have to first partition both numbers (the number you’re going to be adding to and the number you will be adding). After that, you add the hundreds together (depending on what number you have), the tens together and the units together. Once you have done that, you need to recombine all of your answers together. If you are subtracting, it’s pretty much the same as adding. But, this time, you only partition one number, which is the number you are going to subtract from.

When we were finished with the FLIP Workshop, we started our Literacy lesson. In Literacy, we were going to look at non-chronological reports. A non-chronological report is a report that does not have to be in time order. If it is a chronological report, it is just the opposite. Since we were learning about Madagascar in Literacy, we were looking at non-chronological reports about Madagascan animals. There was a hippo, a lion, a zebra, a giraffe, a lemur and many more. After that, we carried on with the school day.

snowing

The next day, I woke up with the most wonderful surprise. It was 2016’s first snowfall! โ„๏ธ I looked at it in awe for a while. Then, I quickly got ready for school and jumped inside Mr ย Dad’s car. It was SOOO cold, even inside the car! When I arrived at school, there was snow everywhere! Unfortunately, the snow melted completely when all of us went outside. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But, we still enjoyed it while it lasted!

lion sketched.jpg

We also did Literacy and Maths too. Then, two things that were really exciting happened in the afternoon! First, we did some sketching! We sketched a PAWSOME lion with the whole class. Miss Javed sketched one too and it looked beautiful! If you want to do some sketching, here’s the website where you can get step-by-step instructions:

http://www.howtodrawanimals.net

the animal man-178x174

Finally, the highlight of the afternoon came. We went to see…an animal man!!!!! Because we are learning about the Amazon Rainforest and Madagascar, the animal man brought a large range of interesting animals for us to look at and touch.

cockroach

When we all finished our sketching, we quickly lined up and went down to the media suite where we would find the animal man. Inside the media suite, we found him sitting on a chair surrounded with lots of animals. He then introduced himself and brought out the first animal! It was (drum roll please!)…Madagascan hissing cockroaches!!! I was shaking and trembling when the animal man took the cockroaches out. Then, with no warning whatsoever, he threw a cockroach into someone’s lap and we were all screaming and shouting! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Finally, the torture was over after he put the cockroaches back in their box.

bearded dragon and gecko

After the cockroaches, the man brought out a bearded dragon and a cute lil’ gecko! We weren’t allowed to touch the gecko but we could all touch the fierce looking bearded dragon. Both of the animals stared at us as we touched them and looked at them. I guess they were really interested in us! ๐Ÿ˜›

albino-african-pygmy-hedge

The next animal to come out was the one and only Ella, the Albino pygmy hedgehog! The animal man told us Ella was blind and she could only rely on her sense of smell and hearing. So, it was very important that we didn’t scare her. He then brought Ella around so we could pet her. When it was my go, I saw that Ella had big, shiny, red eyes that stood out from her face.

albino skunk

Then, the man brought out the stinkiest animal of them all. Can you guess? Yes, that’s right! It was a stinky, smelly, ย silly old Albino skunk! We found out that the skunk had been rolling around in urineย and he made himself turn yellow because of that! This time, we all nervously touched the skunk, thinking that he might spray on us any moment. The animal man told us not to worry and to buy tomato juice to get rid of the smell!

Barn_owl

Next came the elegant barn owl, which has 14 neck bones! A barn owl has a great sense of hearing. It’s better than a human’s sense of hearing! Once again, the animal man took the barn owl and brought it around so we could stroke it. It definitely wanted to get off the man’s hand now and explore. And so, the animal man let him fly freely. But, he decided to sit on the interactive whiteboard and watch TV! XD

ball python

Last but not least, the animal man brought out the greatest animal of all, the fantastic Ball Python! The Ball Python felt scaly, cold and was deadly. Miss Javed actually put the python around her neck and took a selfie with it! What a great idea! The python was also attracted to the iPad and it didn’t move. When we were lining up, we got the chance to feel the python as we went out. Phew! That was over now!

Finally, we move on to Friday! Friday was a normal school day. The only thing that brightened up the day (or made the day colder) was more snow!ย We did Literacy, Maths and whatnot. Then, we went to have our P.E lesson, as we normally do on Mondays and Fridays.

coffee grinder

In P.E, we were doing break dancing and were focusing on floor moves. In this particular lesson, we were learning how to do the Coffee Grinder first!ย I know what you’re thinking! Coffee Grinder? What in the world of The Pawsome Lion is that? Well, it’s quite easy to do. First, get into a cannonball position but with your hands out in front of you on the floor. Next, put your left foot out and bring it under your hands to the other side. When you’re in that position, jump over your left foot with your right foot and you should be back in the second position! There you go! Here is a video for more information that you might need:

6 step

The next move that we learned was the 6 Step! As it says in the name, this break dancing move has 6 steps. In that case, I will not list the instructions down coz it’s super hard! Anyway, it’s really cool if you know how to do it and if you take it slow, you will master it in no time! For the instructions, here is a video for you containing all the information you need:

giraffe sketched

After P.E, we went to lunch. When lunch was finished, we came back to class, did the register and started another calming session of sketching. This time, we sketched a realistic giraffe. We added some spots and a nice scenery in the background. In my picture, I also put in some falling leaves and the giraffe’s shadow as some additional details.

luxuriate

Then, when we finished our sketching, we all went home to start ourย luxuriating weekends…

Well, that’s it for this week! I hope that you have enjoyed the weekends too! Until next time, tแบกm biแป‡t!

BELATED SURPRISE…

once upon a time book

Once uponย a time, there lived a Prince Charming from the kingdom of The Blissful Abode. He was widely known for his good looks and lovable character. He was also a man of many talents.

blissful abode.jpg

As he grew older, he felt that something was missing from his life. So, one day, he told his father, the king of The Blissful Abode, about it. But, unfortunately, the king did not have any answers to his problems.

empty.jpg

A few days went by until the prince realised what he was missing from his life, a princess! So, the prince went back to see the king. Then, the king asked his court of advisors to throw a royal ball in order to find the perfect wife.

royal ball.jpg

Many willing admirers and hundreds of young maidens from near and far attended the royal ball. However, Prince Charming became disheartened of his failure to find a suitable wife. The king tried to comfort him as best as he could. He went to bed feeling frustrated.

dreams

That night, he had a peculiar dream. In his dream, he saw an old man carrying a sack full of gold and diamonds โ™ฆ which he gave to the prince. He then told the prince to travel to the Kingdom of Diamonds where he would find his true love. Then, without another word, he disappeared into thin air.

diamonds.jpg

The next day, Prince Charming rushed to talk to the king and tell him about his dream. The king suggested that he should take someone to accompany him for his safety. But, the prince refused and said that he wanted to go as a common man so no one knew that he was a prince. Then, as soon as possible, he planned out his trip to the Kingdom of Diamonds and set off immediately.

set ff.jpg

On his journey, he had to dodge several obstacles such as thunderstorms, mountains, wide rivers, misty jungles and so on. After a few months time, he finally arrived at the Kingdom of Diamonds. Upon his arrival, the smell of frangipani greeted him and his nose. He then followed the smell until he found the sight of white, blooming frangipani on a tree. He decided to take a rest under the shade of the tree because he was worn out from the long journey and a while later, he dozed off.

tree

Suddenly, the prince was woken up by the sound of a sweet, beautiful singing voice. He turned his head to and fro whilst rubbing his eyes thinking that he was dreaming. Then, he caught sight of a gorgeous maiden with long hair just like Rapunzel. But, unlike Rapunzel, her hair colour was a glossy, shiny type of black. Little did he know that the fair damsel was Princess Leelowadee of the Kingdom of Diamonds.

love at first sight.jpg

As soon as both of their eyes met, they fell in love at first sight! โ™ฅโ™ฅ Without any delay, Prince Charming proposed to her,

โ€œHereโ€™s my love, take it. Hereโ€™s my soul, use it. Hereโ€™s my heart, donโ€™t break it. Hereโ€™s my hand, hold it and together we will make it together. Be mine?โ€

Princess Leelowadee blushed and nodded her head in a gesture of accepting his proposal. The romantic moment turned sorrowful when Prince Charming had to leave so that he could make appropriate arrangements to take his beautiful bride back to his kingdom. As he was leaving, he turned to Princess Leelowadee and said,

โ€œIโ€™ll return soon with hundreds of horses and elephants to take you, my dearest princess, away.โ€

Then, the prince left and journeyed off to his far, far away kingdom.

โ™ฅ โ™ฅ โ™ฅ

The long-awaited day finally came when the prince arrived at the Kingdom of Diamonds with hundreds of horses and elephants, as promised. He brought along with him his wedding entourage and 1001 gifts for his beloved bride. He then took Princess Leelowadee and helped her inside the golden wedding carriage and marched back to The Blissful Abode.ย

fireworks.gif

When they reached their destination, the people of The Blissful Abode welcomed the newlyweds with a grand celebration. There were singers, dancers, fireworks, peacocks and a large banquet on behalf of Prince Charming and Princess Leelowadee.

peacokcs.gif

Although the prince and princess came from different backgrounds and spoke different languages, they both tried their best to love one another until the end of their lifetime.

heart flowers book.jpg

Many years have passed and their marriage was blessed with 3 beautiful princesses and 2 handsome princes. Their life is now complete with the arrival of 4 charming grandsons and 3 gorgeous granddaughters. Everyone adores King Charming and Queen Leelowadee for their never-ending love. And they lived happily ever after…โ™ฅ

life is a fairy tale

Life is a fairy tale!ย We will come across many Cinderellas, Snow Whites, Rapunzels, Prince Charmings and Princess Leelowadees! We will also meet fairy godmothers and wicked witches too! No matter how high the mountains are, how low the valleys are or how wide the rivers are, it is up to us how we will spin our stories into GOLD!

gold straw.jpg

As for me, I am lucky to be part of Prince Charmingโ€™s and Princess Leelowadeeโ€™s fairytale. I am especially blessed to inherit Prince Charmingโ€™s (Dadajee) good looks! (#vain)

lucky no 1

As their first grandson, I canโ€™t wait to pass on their great love story to my future children. One thing that I will never forget is when the newlyweds were going out for their first date! Since both of them couldnโ€™t speak each otherโ€™s language, Dadajee had to search every magazine in the house just to find a picture of corn so he could ask Khun Yai Thi Rak Khong Phom if she wanted to go out with him and have some grilled corn! How romantic, huh? ๐Ÿ˜€

love story.jpg

If youโ€™ve seen my Pawsome Dates page, then you would have noticed that other than Little Miss Divaโ€™s birthday, Dadajeeโ€™s birthday is another important date in January. His birthday falls on the 7th of every January. This date is like a sacred date for our family!

candles.jpg

On his birthday, I always like to surprise him by calling him on FaceTime call and singing Happy Birthday to him. Even though I canโ€™t give Dadajee any presents because he lives all the way in Malaysia, I always keep him in my prayers every day! But Iโ€™m sure that my Auntie Kawaii will bake him a special birthday cake and Mr OCD Uncle will never forget to treat him with something special! And Khun Yai Thi Rak Khong Phom will definitely cook a special birthday feast. No doubt about that! ๐Ÿ˜‰

bff

My Dadajee is my best friend! He is handsome, charming, loving and a man of many talents. He is also a great, funny grandpa with creativity and PAWSOME personality! He is one of the most lovable characters you could ever meet! Dadajee is a man that can do anything. He can speak many languages, he is very skilled when it comes to gardening and he is a good cook too. He can make delicious Biryani and the best Milo in the world! He is the best husband, father and grandfather!!!

the best.jpg

At a very young age, he travelled all over Malaysia to seek more knowledge and experience! He was only 15 years old at the time. He had made lots of friends during his expedition which he still keeps in touch with until today. He also travelled to many other countries for business purposes.

travel

Once, he did something that I was grateful for the rest of my life! I was only 2 & 1/2 years old at the time. I was out in the garden, playing, running like any normal kid would do. As I was playing, I was running back and forth to get fruit to treat myself. Suddenly, I put a grape in my mouth and I donโ€™t know how it got stuck in my throat! I was choking and my face turned blue according to Mrs Mom. Thankfully, Dadajee managed to get the grape out of my throat! What a miracle!!! I owe my life to you, Dadajee!

i owe you

The greatest memories were when we travelled all around the UK together. We went to London, Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Manchester, Blackpool, Lake District, Glasgow, Edinburgh and many other places too. I wish that we could do it again in the near future!

memories.jpg

Some other times, he will tell me the stories of how great my forefathers were. He taught me lots of things too. I enjoyed sitting down with him exchanging stories. I love listening to him because he is very funny and I love it when he sings! He is also a good listener. He will always show excitement every time when I tell him my stories. I always look forward to his visit every year. I canโ€™t imagine to live without seeing him in a year!

i love you

One thing for sure is that Dadajee is very generous, romantic, charming, super duper protective, supportive and ROARSOME!!! He is also a very hard-working man. He will never sit still. He will always find something to keep him occupied. Dadajee is a YES man too! You can ask him anything and he will always say yes. He will never say no to your requests! All these great qualities make Dadajee a PAWSOME grandpa!

Thank_you

Last but not least, I would like to take this golden opportunity to thank my Dadajee for all the extraordinary skills and knowledge which he has passed onto all his children. Mrs Mom and Dr Auntie always share with me all the tips and techniques that Dadajee used in the past when they were young. I have to say, the communication technique that Dadajee used with his children is phenomenal! Both Mrs Mom and Dr Auntie have proven that practicing their communication skills in front of a mirror really helps! I too will use the same old technique to brush up on my communication skills. Many kudos to Dadajee for all the time that he sacrificed to help all of his children to excel in their studies! Now I know where Mrs Mom got all her skills from. Perhaps one day, I will write a book about all of Dadajeeโ€™s skills and techniques so that the whole world could benefit from it! I am honoured to be one of his descendants! For me, my Dadajee is definitely the best grandpa in the whole wide world!!!!!

Happy 66th Birthday, Dadajee!

(A poem by: The Pawsome Lion)

Youโ€™re one of a kind,

Dadajee, the best grandpa in the world,

You could take me round Earth 66 times, with great, big wings unfurled!

I walk with you

All the time,

Smelling the fresh scent of the thyme

You tell me tales

From far and wide,

From the states of Malaysia to the first aeroplanes that flied

You show me books and pictures

From the olden days,

You showed me when you were at school

And was making lots of friends

My wonderful Dadajee,

You always wear a smile,

You did that for very long, I reckon thatโ€™s your style

Youโ€™re a jolly grandpa,

Thereโ€™s no chance youโ€™re not!

You have happiness inside you, that is what youโ€™ve got!

My greatest Dadajee,

Iโ€™ve learnt so much from you,

Although my favourite colourโ€™s purple and yours is yellow, we still make the perfect crew!

Dadajee oh Dadajee,

Youโ€™re the most supportive person on Earth,

All of your hard work is really really worth!

Dadajee, youโ€™re extra helpful,

Youโ€™re a grandpa with good looks,

Youโ€™re also filled with lots of knowledge, that makes you a walking book!

My dear Dadajee,

You have many talents,

You should share them with the world!

p/s: God doesnโ€™t count the candles on your cake or the money in the bank, but the love in your soul. Fortunately, He can count really high! May God grant you a long blessed life and give you the desires of your heart. May God make you the richest man in Heaven! May God remove all troubles from you. May He give you peace and abundance. May God make you victorious. May He neutralise your enemies and make your friends closer…

My Little Miss Diva!

c19e8bd0abfe6b80baa6b225bc38b347.jpg

Since 2014, the 3rd of January has been an important date for my family! This is because of the long awaited addition to my small family. Of course, itโ€™s none other than my Little Miss Divaโ€™s day of birth. Mrs Mom said, โ€œShe was a miracle!โ€

miracles.jpg

I was 7 years old when I found out that Mrs Mom was pregnant with Little Miss Diva. When I first heard the news, I was stupefied! I couldnโ€™t believe it! The news had me jumping with excitement because I never had a brother or sister before.

MikeWazowski.png

There was a strong connection between me and Little Miss Diva right from the beginning. Whenever Mrs Mom wanted to sleep, I always had to sit beside her and keep her company. Sometimes, even when she was still in Mrs Momโ€™s tummy, I would read stories to Little Miss Diva at night and talk to her all the time. Occasionally, she would kick Mrs Momโ€™s tummy as she listened to me talk to her.

NETWORKmimicry-strong-connections.png

In the period of time when Mrs Mom was pregnant, I did a lot of research on (newborn) babies and found out lots of amazing facts, like how fragile a babyโ€™s skull can be. Other than that, I also did some research about the babyโ€™s growth and development. I did the research in order to help me get prepared when Little Miss Diva came into the world. I have to say, the research helped me a lot!

Research.jpg

Then, around the time when Mrs Mom was going to give birth, me and Mr Dad went to Mothercare to buy a bodysuit for Little Miss Diva that said โ€œI LOVE MY BROTHER!โ€ XD It looked so cute! I was sure that it would suit Little Miss Diva. The bodysuit was my first gift for her. We also bought a lot of other things for her too.

506-1069_PI_1000321MN

Finally, after a long wait, it was the time for Little Miss Diva to breathe her first breath of fresh air. The time when Little Miss Diva was born was an exhilarating moment. As soon as she came out of Mrs Momโ€™s tummy, she was crying like mad! A little while later, she managed to calm herself down. As she laid down on her bed, she looked so cute whilst she slept and snored. I was really looking forward to spending more time with her!

5072699104_e125e6daaa_z.jpg

When she was first born, she was diagnosed with Cowโ€™s Milk Allergy and couldnโ€™t drink any milk other than Mrs Momโ€™s milk! Whenever she took in dairy products, her body would react badly and she would start to vomit. She had to get a special milk powder that was suitable for babies and toddlers who are lactose intolerant. She is beginning to eat more dairy products now but her body still reacts badly. The poor little thing is even allergic to her own birthday cake! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

url.jpg

As Little Miss Diva grew, me and her made lots of great memories. When she was around 7 months old, she grew her first tooth! I found that out on Saturday 19th July 2014. She was chewing on her teether a lot in this period of time. After that, Mrs Mom decided to teach Little Miss Diva to use a toothbrush at an early stage. That day was Monday 21st July 2014. Sometimes, she still wants me to brush her teeth though.

images.jpg

After that, on Tuesday 22nd July 2014, me and Mrs Mom discovered that she could clap her hands! As we were watching TV, Mrs Mom started cheering and told Little Miss Diva to clap. Thatโ€™s when her new hidden talent was revealed! Unfortunately, Mr Dad was at work but we showed him as soon as he came home.

tumblr_inline_nm1jlp3BDG1r48ct1.gif

Later, she started to crawl on Wednesday 6th August 2014! Mr Dad was in the kitchen but Dadajee was also on FaceTime call to witness it. This was just one step before she would be walking so that would be good! When she started to crawl, she was very active and crawled everywhere.

boopstpatricks4.gif

Then, she started to talk to me when she was only 9 months old. That is very good for a normal baby. That means that she will learn quickly in the future! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Now, she can finally share her thoughts with us!

Speech-bubbles-resized.jpg

Next came the time when she was walking secretly behind my back! I didnโ€™t realise it until one day, I turned around and found her walking around and playing. When she saw me looking at her, she quickly sat down and did something else. Then, I asked her to walk again but she refused to do it. But, she was a pro when she walked with her knees. She could manage to walk all around the house with her knees! Later on, when we moved house in March 2015, she was still walking in her own special way which was using her knees! A little while later, her knees were swollen from all that walking with her knees because unlike our old house, the floor was oak flooring and that caused her knees to be swollen. From then on, she started using her feet for a good purpose!

baby-feet-first-steps.jpg

When she was younger, I enjoyed looking after her and giving her milk. Everyday, she would always ask me to read some books to her. There are also some times when she would read a book to me! This has been our daily routine since she was born until today. On other occasions, I will make chocolate spread sandwiches for her and feed her all the time.

self-improvement-books.jpg

From time to time, she would pray beside me and follow me as I prayed. Whenever she wants to pray with me, she will start to shout because she wants me to get her prayer mat out! Now and again, she will invite me to dance with her, except this time, I have to follow her! ๐Ÿ˜›

Only-a-Brother.jpg

Every so often, Little Miss Diva wants me to give her a bath. I still have to do that now. But, itโ€™s fine with me because we have pawsome fun in the bath all the time. She will splash and play while I pour water over her and wash her. She can also wash herself, but only when she wants to. I love spending good quality time with her!

quality-time-project-with-frame-and-words.jpg

Suddenly, with no warning whatsoever, her personality changed a bit. First, she didnโ€™t like to put girly clothes and accessories on but now, sheโ€™s a bit of a diva and likes to put dresses on all the time! She is also a big fan of Frozen, Minion and Mickey Mouse. Now, when I said Mickey Mouse, I didnโ€™t mean BOTH Mickey and Minnie. I only meant Mickey Mouse because Little Miss Diva only likes him! I donโ€™t know why she is like that.

Mickey_Mouse.png

Little Miss Diva has many good qualities in her. Of course, No. 1 would be that sheโ€™s super duper CUTE and BEAUTIFUL! She is also very protective whenever Mr Dad or Mrs Mom is angry with me or Baby A. She will go to them straight away and say โ€œDonโ€™t do that!โ€ or โ€œStop!โ€. Another good quality that she has is kindness and friendliness. She loves playing with other people and likes to make friends. Little Miss Diva also likes to sing songs (especially Frozen songs like Let It Go!) and dance to them too! She also has a great imagination because when she plays with a toy, she will try to make the story real. For example, when she plays with her toy doll, she will put the doll in her push chair and pretend that sheโ€™s going shopping.

no1-sister-of-the-world-Tank-Tops.jpg

Me and Little Miss Diva enjoy doing plenty of things together. Sometimes we like to sing and dance together and in other times, we draw pictures with each other. On other occasions, we will play shopping with each other. I will be the shopkeeper and she will be the customer that buys things from my shop. Some other times, we will do some arts and crafts together. Little Miss Diva also loves pretending to cook with me. Little Miss Diva enjoys sharing her time with me. And of course, what every brother and sister likes to do…give each other a CUDDLE!!!!!

90031-Cuddle-With-Me-.jpg

I ,as a brother, think that Little Miss Diva is the best sister in the world! She has lots of good qualities, we enjoy spending time together and I love her more than anything in this world! After all, what would my life be like without her? She is a sister that is cute, kind, friendly and PAWSOME! I am super duper proud to have a little sister like her!

This year marks your second birthday my Little Miss Diva! I know that youโ€™ve enjoyed your birthday cake and presents on Sunday. However, I would like to share a special poem which Iโ€™ve written especially for you…

My Little Miss Diva!

I am your brother

And you are my sister,

Every day together is like a fun twister!

I am always there

When you are hurt,

Iโ€™ll pick you up and brush off that dirt

You are my sister

And youโ€™re like my friend,

Youโ€™ve got so much time that with me you can spend!

You are there

To keep me company,

When we are together, we are one big tree!

Weโ€™ll hold each others hands

And never let go,

Weโ€™ll make it through hard times and together weโ€™ll grow

Tears of joy

And tears of sorrow,

Do not worry, itโ€™ll be fine tomorrow

Weโ€™ll be close together

As we dance through life,

Listening to the birds that sound like a fife

Weโ€™ll get through it quick,

No matter what life sends,

Weโ€™ll be the pair that will somehow transcend!

We will fly,

High in the sky,

Like one big eagle,

Great and golden,

We will fly over the five oceans!

Never break apart,

Gotta stick together!

Never leave each other,

That way, weโ€™ll be as swift as a feather!

Back to School!!

back-to-school.jpg

Hiya there pawsome peeps! Since the past two weeks, everyone at home have been feeling under the weather. This is because it has been freezing cold lately. Dr Auntie was the first one down, then it passed onto Mr Dad, then Mrs Mom and finally both Little Miss Diva and Baby A.ย Luckily, this time, I am not tagged along with them! ๐Ÿ˜€ As I am the only one who is as strong as a lion, I’ve been busy helping around the house. This has affected my schedule and I am a lot behind it at the moment. There are a lot of unticked boxes in my to do list! Got a lot of catching up to do!

As you know, the two week school holiday has passed and today was the first day at school in the year of 2016! YAHOO!!!!! I couldn’t wait to go to school this morning and meet my AMAZING Miss Javed, my PAWSOME Miss Hussain and surely my ROARSOME Hazel class!!!

When I arrived at school, everyone was looking happy and cheerful. Today, we had a supply teacher called Miss Dildar in the morning for about half an hour. In that half an hour, we spent the time writing some New Year’s Resolutions in 2016 and reflecting back on 2015. If any of you don’t know what a New Year’s Resolution is, it’s kinda like setting yourself a challenge or trying to improve on something for next year. My New Year’s Resolution was to improve on my writing skills so that one day, I can be a successful writer!

Then, when Miss Javed came back to the classroom, we started our Train Your Brain Day! Train Your Brain Day happens on the first day of school after any long holidays. Train Your Brain Day is basicallyย discoveringย new learning powers and having a go at using them. After our short Train Your Brain session, we moved on to the “normal” school day. Now, because it was the first day back, we were going to be learning about a new topic. It was…the Amazon rainforest (I don’t mean “Amazon” as in the electrical commerce Amazon XD )! The Amazon rainforest is a rain forest near the Amazon River Basin in South America. The Amazon rainforest is also known as the world’s most largest rainforest!

Now, we needed a new display at school because we are learning about a different subject. So, in order to do that, my class helped make some parts for the display. The first thing that we made were cute little lemur monkeys that looked like King Julien! The parts of the body were separate so there was a lot of colouring, cutting and sticking. But, at least we only needed two or three colours. The lemurs were grey with black stripes on their tails. There was also some black on the face too. Once we finished colouring in the parts of the body, we cut them out and stuck them all together. Then, our lemurs were finished! They all looked cute and like King Julien!

After that, we left the lemurs in a pile inside the classroom and went to lunch. For my lunch, I had:

  1. A veggie roll/sausage with sweetcorn and pasta on the side
  2. Fruity jelly
  3. Juice

After lunch, we had another exciting activity to do in the afternoon. We were going to make Amazon snakes! The snakes were also for our Amazon rainforest display. There were three different techniques that we could use to make our snakes.

No.1 was to use a plate and decorate it before you cut a swirly pattern onto it. No.2 was to use the chain technique, which is just cutting the right length strips of paper and bending them round to make a small ring and joining all the rings at the same time. The 3rd and final one is called the concertina technique. This is made by glueing two strips of paper which are the same size at right angles, folding one piece up, then the other one and repeating this many times.

There were lots of pawsome snakes that were made for the display. All three techniques were seen all around the classroom. The techniques that I used were the chain and concertina technique. The most hardest technique out of all three of them would definitely be the concertina technique! I got there in the end but I also had to give a snake-making masterclass to some other classmates like Amaan, Abubakar and Krish! Phew!!! That was a lot of ย hard work! ๐Ÿ˜‰

At the end of the day, we put all of our snakes and lemurs in one pile so that they could be displayed on the Amazon Rainforest display. I’m very intrigued by this new topic and I can’t wait to learn about it! It sounds super pawsome!

As always on Tuesdays, at home time, I went to Keyboard Club. When I arrived at the place where Keyboard Club was held, I was surprised at what I saw on the interactive whiteboard. On it, in big, blue writing, it said, “Song Writing!” When I read that, I felt like jumping up and saying “WOOHOO!” Perhaps everyone should’ve known by now that other than writing, I also love making music and writing songs. So, I knew this lesson would turn out good for me. What we did first was think of our favourite song and read out the first line of it. Then, we need to try and guess what the song is about by just reading the first line. After that, we needed to think of some categories that we could write about in our song. Next, we wrote the first few lines of our song and shared it with the rest of the class. My lyrics were:

The moment I had to leave you,

I was left in complete sorrow

My heart was broken, just a tiny pebble,

I was afraid of the unknown…

Then, when we finished writing our lyrics, we had to find a suitable tune for our lyrics on the keyboard. We all managed to finish this task just in time before we had to go home. We were then informed that our individual songs would be put together at the end of the half term to make one big song! We were all excited when we heard the news and couldn’t wait. Finally, it was time to go home…

A Piece Of Cake: The Box in the Window-Part 6!

How’s it goin’ pawsome peeps! Since it’s the New Year, I’ve decided to treat you with Part 6 of The Box in the Window! Here it is…

“The Box in the Window-Part 6”

The room was shadowy and was only lit up by the light from the door.

“Have they gone?” asked Elizabeth, panting like a dog.

“I think so.” repliedย Benjamin.

All of a sudden, the door behind them closed by itself. Maria squealed as it hit the wall with a thundering thump.

“What was that?” quizzed Maria.

“I’m not sure.” said Benjamin, switching on the light. “Probably just the wind!”

The dim light revealed only a mouldy window, a table with old pictures on it and a strange looking box.

“Hey, isn’t that the same box the djinn was in?” said Elizabeth, pointing at the box.

“Wait a second, you’re right! That is!” said Maria.

“So that’s what closed the door!” said Benjamin.

Then, the box started to quake and vibrate. It made a buzzing sound on the table.

“What’s it doing now?” said Elizabeth.

” It appears to be making a blackhole and that’s not good!” exclaimed Benjamin.

“What? There’s always something fishy going on in this place!” said Maria.

The black hole was red and purple with a round pitch-black hole in the middle. Inside the hole was a long, thin, blue line of smoke that glowed and blinded Elizabeth’s, Maria’s and Benjamin’s eyes.

“Take cover!” shouted Benjamin as they got sucked into the black hole.
