A Piece of Cake: The Box in the Window-Part 8!

Ghostly greetings everybody! Whoo! Today, the next soul-gripping part of my story will be uncovered. What do you think will happen when Maria, Benjamin and Elizabeth meet face to face with Acantha?

“A Piece of Cake-The Box in the Window-Part 8”

room

Furniture began to break. Walls were literally being torn apart. Windows were smashed and the glass splintered on the floor.

Suddenly, Elizabeth was lifted off her feet and flung to the other side of the room into a ruined wall. She bounced off and fell onto a broken table. Then she flew up once again and circled round the room, crashing into whatever was in her way.

“HELP ME!!! MUM! BENJAMIN!!! ARRRGGHHH!!!” she screamed. “PLEASE!! HELP!!!!”

Elizabeth was thrown into a small corner. She lay still, bursting with tears. Acantha’s scream then turned into an evil cackle, similar to what a hyena would sound like.

He bellowed, “HAHAHA!!! You really think that I’ll spare you? You’re wrong! HAHAHAHAHA! I’ll  do what I did to the others!!! I’ll lock you up in a place where you can never see the light of day again! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

“Who are the others?!” shouted Benjamin.

HAHAHAHA!!!

“Tell me!” Benjamin commanded.

NO!! HAHAHA!!!

light

There was a flash of light and then, silence. Silence. Not a sound to be heard. Elizabeth had stopped crying but Maria was still comforting her.

“Benjamin, there’s something wrong.” said Maria, panting like a dog.

“Mum, I want to go home!” Elizabeth whined. “I want to leave!”

“OK, OK,” Maria replied. “But just one thing. Where is home?”

fog

She stared into the thick, grey fog surrounding them. Their voices echoed out into the greyness.

School’s Here!!!

school.jpg

Wagwan pawsome peeps! Hope you’re doing well! As you all know, the Easter holidays have come to an end and it’s the start of a new school term. Since I haven’t written about school for quite a while now, I have decided to write a quick update about what’s going on at school.

As usual, I couldn’t wait to meet my PAWSOME Hazel class again on the first day back. Everyone was in a cheerful mood, especially the ROARSOME duo, Miss Javed and Miss Hussain!

natural-disasters

Since it was the start of a new term, we would be starting a new topic. Our topic for this term is all about Natural Disasters. This topic is jam-packed with lots of fun things to learn such as why earthquakes happen, what makes volcanos erupt, how tsunamis form and much more. And, we made great, enormous volcanos out of ordinary plastic bottles that were put on display. Some children also drew life-like pictures of natural disasters. From what I have seen, I guarantee that everyone will enjoy learning about this topic!

Then, on Thursday, something special happened at school. It was…Arts Day! Arts Day is a day that is dedicated to art and design. Each Arts Day has a different theme each year. The theme for this Arts Day was portraits! As usual, there was task for us to complete. We had to create a portrait, collage or sculpture of someone who inspires us the most. Being the typical me, I’m always ready to take on the challenge! So, I made piece of artwork with both me and Mr Dad in it. As part of the artwork, I also created a quote related to father and son. It was:

“My father is the greatest father anyone could have. He gives me love, guidance and he always believes in me.

But the best gift he gave me was teaching me how to spread my wings and fly!”

I presented my artwork in a HUGE frame that looked like a film strip. And like I always say, even if I don’t win, I still tried my best! As a treat, a graffiti artist came visited us and explained to us what graffiti is! He also wrote the school’s initials in graffiti style writing and showed us some of the techniques that are used in graffiti art. The finishing product looked AA-mazing!  The graffiti art was going to be in the middle of our arts display once the portraits that we made at school were finished.

rainbow

Each year group was also asked to wear a certain colour on that day. This was all part of a school arts piece that we made. Year 4 was asked to wear a blue shirt or dress. Miss Javed and Miss Hussain were both wearing blue tops, blue trousers and even blue hair extensions! For once, they actually looked like twins! When all of the year groups were sitting together, the colours of our clothes made a magnificent rainbow if it was seen from above. Some of the teachers took photos of us and we all can’t wait to see them!

handwriting

Me and Nimat have also started our very own Handwriting Club! Our aim is to help children develop their handwriting so they have a better chance of earning a pen licence in the future. There are currently 5 children attending the club. From time to time, we also ask some other children to help us run the Handwriting Club because these children can be a handful (if you know what I mean)! At the moment, the club is for Year 2 children and is held three times a week. The club has been going on for more than two months now. We are also hoping to open up to other year groups over time.

drama

There is also some other news that I would like to share with you guys. I have finally got a place in Drama Club! As the name states, this is a club where we act out plays and movies. It is run by Mr Ball, a class teacher in Year 5. The play that we are currently practising is called A Midsummer Night’s Dream written by the well-known William Shakespeare. Surprisingly, I got the lead male role called Lysander! As a coincidence, Nimat is also in Drama Club! She plays the role of the Fairy. Rehearsals are held every Monday after school and Thursday at lunchtime. The actual play will be held in June and we are all very excited about it.

welcome

Last but not least, I would like to welcome a new student that has recently joined us. His name is Furqan! It has been around two weeks since he started at our school and has settled in really well. Welcome to Shireland Hall Primary Academy, Furqan! I hope you enjoy your time with us!

I’m afraid that I’ll have to end the post here, guys. But, keep your eyes peeled for the next update about another special day that I’ll be writing shortly! Till we meet again, ciao everybody!

ciao new

P/S: I’m feeling a bit under the weather so it looks like no school for The Pawsome Lion tomorrow, which is like the end of the world for me!

A Piece of Cake: The Box in the Window-Part 7!

What’s up pawsome peeps? Long time no see! As promised, today I am revealing the next part of my story, The Box in the Window. So carry on reading for the story!

“A Piece of Cake: The Box in the Window-Part 7”

dark-empty-room

It was dark and pitch black. They couldn’t see a thing. Maria, Benjamin and Elizabeth were slumped on top of each other.

“Where are we?” said Elizabeth.

“I’m not sure.” replied Benjamin.

There were a few small puddles that splashed as they walked around to explore.

lantern

Then, just like magic, a lantern in the corner lit up. It nearly lit up everything in the place.

“Hmm, who did that?” asked Maria.

“That was very strange!” said Benjamin.

The lantern gave them a chance to look around and find out where they were. It seemed that they were trapped in an ancient room filled with amazing artefacts.

“Good God! These relics date back to hundreds of thousands of years before!” exclaimed Benjamin.

“Oh really!” the girls teased.

Suddenly, something brushed past them. They didn’t know what it was.

“Ouch!” said Elizabeth.

“What was that?” asked Benjamin.

“How should we know? You’re the one with all the information about this ghost nonsense!” said Maria.

Then, they could hear faint footsteps in the distance. They grew louder and louder and then stopped.

“Umm-“

And then Acantha jumped out at them all of a sudden! He let out a loud, deafening screech.

“AAARRGH!” they all screamed…

A Letter to David Cameron: Stop Deforestation!

amazon-deforestation

Hello everybody! This particular post is going to be a letter that everyone else in my class wrote the day the MP visited school. Because I was giving John Spellar a tour around the school, I did not have time to write it. So, I decided to complete it today!

Dear Mr Cameron,

I am writing to you to inform you about the dangers of chopping down the rainforest. There are many reasons to why the precious rainforest should not be harmed.

Firstly, I strongly believe that you should not chop down the rainforest because over 25% of tropical plants are used in modern medicine. Some of them are used to treat Malaria and Cancer. Therefore, destroying the rainforest will destroy all of the helpful plants. As a result of this, people could get seriously ill and with no medicine to cure them, they would die!

My second reason to think that your idea could lead to a crisis is due to the fact that many rare and beautiful animals use the rainforest as shelter. If they had nowhere to hide, they would be easily exposed to predators and wouldn’t have any protection. That way, they would become endangered or even extinct! How would you feel if you lost all your family and friends?

My main reason for why this is a catastrophic plan is because several indigenous tribes have lived their for many years. These people depend on the rainforest for many things such as food, shelter and medicine. If you chop down the trees, you take their home away from them too! You should think about other people too, not just yourself! If you take away their homes, they will need to be re-housed and most tribes will be completely wiped out!

To sum up, all living things rely on the rainforest for food, medicine, oxygen and more. All of these advantages could be taken away with the loss of another tree. Dilemmas are already happening around the world as we speak! That is why we should preserve the rainforest instead of harming it.

I hope you will understand and agree to my debate.

Yours sincerely,

The Pawsome Lion

A Very PAWSOME Day! #throwback Friday 11th March 2016

risk-of-awesome-today

Hey there pawsome peeps! How’s it going? A lot of things have been going on at school and I can’t wait to tell you. But first, let’s start of with the most exciting moment of this term!

mp

It was a very busy day indeed! I had club to attend, children to collect and I even did a very special job! That was what I really wanted to tell you. You’ll never guess what it was! I gave a tour of the school to the MP of Warley, John Spellar! When I found out that I was selected to show Mr Spellar around school, I was taken by surprise. Luckily, Anisha, who was also in JLT, was there with me to help me conduct the tour.

As we went around the school, we showed Mr Spellar many things that we  made and wrote in our classes. He admired everything and said that they were great pieces of work. We showed him Year 4’s work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Year 5’s Viking work and year 6’s work about The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

EIHL-Blog

Then, Mr Shephard, who helped with the tour, kindly mentioned to him that I have a blog and he wished to see it. So, I brought him to my classroom and presented it to him. As a coincidence, my class were writing a letter to David Cameron to persuade him to stop destroying the rainforest. Great, right?

honoured

After he read my blog, he said that it was a really good blog and that it was a great thing to have. I was so honoured to receive that comment from an MP! We walked around the school for a while but sadly it was time for him to go. He said that our school was full of imagination and creativity. Me and Anisha really enjoyed giving him a tour.

Well, that’s all for today’s post! I’m looking forward to see you again.

Sayonara!

p/s: This is a throwback post because this has been written in the past. Because of my busy schedule, there are many other posts in my drafts folder that are waiting to be posted!

p/p/s: Are you one of The Box in the Window fans? The latest story is coming out soon!
